OWB_ bottle caps not added when selling

Post » Fri Sep 02, 2011 4:12 am

Hi,

I am about 75% through OWB on my PS3, and I have recently encountered a nasty bug in the software. Basically, when I sell anything the caps are not added to my total, but if I buy something, they are taken as per normal. As you can imagine I'm getting skint quickly...Ok I have all the gold bars from the Sierra Madre waiting for me in the Lucky 38 when I get back, but they ain't no good to me at the moment.....

Does anyone know how to work around this or if it will be fixed ? If I go back to the beggining and replay OWB, will the problem still be there ?

For me this is really annoying and has made it unplayable for now until this issue is fixed...

Thanks for any help you can give me...

This "Vendor Caps" glitch is actually carried over from Fallout 3 and was never patched.

Basically the vendor stops paying out on sold items when their caps goes over 32767.

The workaround is to make sure it never goes above this amount if you are selling of or repairing a large amount of items.

If the OWB sink vendor caps have already gone over that amount, then you have to go outside of the cell and wait 3 days for the inventory to reset. I usually wind up waiting/sleeping in Higgs Village when I need to do this in the Big MT.

Hope that helps.

Hi

Thanks a lot for your help, I must have been lucky, I've played all the DLC for FO3 and so far I'm upto level 45 in New Vegas including the current DLC before I got the glitch. So as I'm down to my last 1000 caps and my Teslar armour and stealth suit are both almost shot, I've decided to restart OWB. Not too much of a pain as I'll put my gained experiences to good use and make sure I take Annabelle in with me this time...if I can remember where I left it.

Regards,

M
