Post » Wed Aug 10, 2011 3:41 am

dose anyone notice that no matter what armor you wear that enemys do an ungodly amount of damage? ill be honest i am on very hard mode but enemys dont do that much damage that they do in OWB dose anyone know if its a glitch or that its just the difficulty. i think its a glitch becuase no enemy dose that much damage in other dlcs and in new vegas.

It's called a challenge. If you want to see Over Powered, go see Broken Steel's enemies.

I found OWB incredibly hard. Then again, I did enter the DLC straight from Doc Mitchell's. I think it's that way by design, and they have level 45 enemies I think.

What level are you at? I was nearly capped when I started playing, and was capped a while before I finished the DLC. Given that the enemies are probably designed to scale up to these high levels, it doesn't come as much surprise that they're dishing out a lot of pain. Also, due to the way that damage mitigation is calculated and the relatively narrow HP band, there isn't a whole lot of difference between power armor and light armor for many of the enemies that you'll end up facing. Also, as their health increases, you need to put more damage into them, but the amount of damage that you can deal doesn't have a lot to do with your level so in general the enemies will get more hits in before they die.

I haven't made a second run through the DLC yet, but I'll probably be making a new character after LR and plan on attempting the DLC at a significantly lower level, which could make it a lot easier.

Its meant to be a relatively high level dlc so the enemies should be a challenge, and as posted above due to how DT works once you start dealing with damage over roughly 80 heavier armor like PA really starts to lose its edge taking 36 damage out of a 120 point hit isn't that helpful. I went in at 22 and had a heck of a time since I walked in pretty much naked for OWB you really need to bring some supplies especially ammo I ran out and hag to rely on melee and my crappy energy weapon skilks for a while until I found a few ammo stashes it was quite hard. OWB provides a challenge that a lot of fans have been clamouring for.

Son, you are going up against a tough and determined enemy. I can not promise you that you won t die multiple times, but no one gets left behind. Dead or respawned 17 times, we will all come home together.
