So I make it a point in every play through to go ahead and kill all the legendary creatures. However, I didn't realize that the Legendary Bloatfly was in OWB. So upon stumbling on to it, I start firing at it with my favorite gun, "This Machine" to come to the realization that it didn't even effect it. So I turn to a minigun and empty 250 rounds into it, the Legendary Bloatfly just keeps on trucking hitting me for an insane amount of damage. So I pull out "Mercy" and start blowing it to hell. Finally took it down.

Moral of the story? That should have been an achievement for goodness sakes. lol. I'd rather fight the Legendary Deathclaw again before tangling with that guy.

Stims are your best friend. Unless you're in HC mode ofc.

Agreed. I blew through quiet a few of them. He ruined a full strength combat armor <.<

I blew through maybe 30-40 of them, though, he went down in maybe 10 shots from my LAER so I didnt use as many as I could have. :mohawk:

I don't think a trophy/achievement is necessary. Some people don't like it when they have to force themselves to do something (like fighting a Bloatfly with ~2000 HP) to get the award. And you can't tell them to just "not do it" because it isn't fair. It's not a good trophy mechanic (I'm looking at you, every FPS ever).

Anyway, yeah, L-Bfly is a toughie. I had learned about what he (it?) can do from the forums while downloading OWB. So I took some pre-cautions ...but not enough. I died fairly quickly. When I reloaded I approached even more carefully and shot at it from behind a rock so it's plasma projectiles wouldn't hit me. :bonk:

I killed it from afar with Christine's sniper rifle, didn't even take damage since the accuracy of that beast is crap. But I agree, if I tried to attack it head on, it would definitely have killed me. I think the wiki says it's the most damaging beast in the game so far with the giant roboscorpion coming second and the legendary death claw coming third (might not be accurate).

Christine's CoS silencer rifle knocked it out quite quickly for me (considering it has 2000 hp). Used nearly all my AP rounds, but the nearly endless supple of Bloatfly sliders made it worth it.

Four shots with the Holorifle....

I didn't really have much trouble with it, just pumped myself full of every chem I had and it went down quickly enough to my AER14 with MC ammo.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who though this guy was a toughie. I mean, despite that he is.

I think that it would have been a good achievement/trophy to kill all the legendary monsters. "Legend Killer" would be appropriate for the name of the trophy/achievement.

But in all honesty, I can see your point Hannibal. But I know there are a few other trophy/achievements that have upset me having to get them.

Maybe I was simply lucky but I took it down with nothing more than a lazer rifle with a scope and some max charge ammo, it barely got a shot off at me.
