OWB: Worst DLC yet

Post » Wed Jul 27, 2011 9:31 am

I'm not a fan of the companion system, seeing as they always engage in combat despite the chances to sneak away.

I've never used it myself, but is there not an option to instruct your companions not to attack an opponent until you've attacked it yourself?

What was the last title, that had Bethesda's name on it, that didn't give the Sony Playstation fits?

Myself on PC I've had a few crashes to desktop. Might have something to do with me abusing the hyper-active spawning of Lobotomites and Trauma override harnesses while the DLC's story is active.

So your saying it svcked because you had crashes im on PS3 as well i had similar experinces but nothing a quick restart wouldnt fix which is no problem. Over all though i thought the dlc was the funnist of them all in almost ever dialog i would laugh and the world was set up nice as long with the player house to although it is a pain in the ass the move my [censored] from lucky 38 to it i find it pretty useful and besides not being able to have my compains chill in the Sink it is a great dlc.

I thought Old World Blues would be a good DLC, except now its the crappiest one yet. Honest Hearts and Dead Money was WAYYY better.
3 freezes/crashes and 5 severe laggings, and I just got out of the Think Tank. My disc is NOT scratched, and my ps3 isn't over-heating or anything. I'm not going to play NV till they release a patch that actually DOES something. Unlike any of the previous patches. The companion dismissal terminal is useless, since it doesn't send my companions to the Lucky 38.
My rage-rant is over.

But does anyone else have problems with OWB?

i loved the new DLC! i havent any problems with it what so ever

I think it might be a PS3-only issue with all the lag and crashes. Since I always hear these kind of problems coming from PS3 users, and always happening to me since I play on the PS3 and I can't play on my PC because it's FUBAR.

The only time it crashes is when I try to fast travel in OWB. not sure why. my fast travel works fine in the Mojahve and in HH.

I believe so, but I wonder if Boone's vendetta against Legion or Rex's hatred of Molerats would override that.

How was Old World Blues a let down. It had anything and everything you could have wanted. For god sakes, there was even a machine that sixually harrassed you while you deposit your seed into it (and yes, I phrased that correctly). :disguise:

I have had the same problems. I had to restart three times, Sunday evening, to even get it to play more than 10 minutes without lagging.

I know it's not the PS3. Every other game, that I have for the PS3, runs perfectly. I can't remember the last time I played a game, on either my PS3 or Xbox, that froze up like this. It is quite annoying.

Ps3 user and had one instance of lag after exiting the sink a simple reload fixed it, try deleting and re downloading see if that helps. As for the patches every single one has had numerous bug fixes.

its my second favorite DCL after dead money. apparently i have different tastes cause most people seem to like honest hearts and old world blues the most and dead money third. my only issue with OWB was the magically spawning enemies that appeared right in front of me. other than that i thought the story was fairly good. i really liked the writing and i loved the toaster and muggy.

Known issue on PC, I ran into a variant myself. Try firing up Steam and verifying the files, that will stop most of it from happening. I still get the occasional FT crash-out, but then I do a lot of vendor rotation; as that involves rapid serial FT use, I may be overloading some hidden buffer.

You can not judge a DLC on the fact that it crashes, for one it has not done that for me, just lag, which i got anyways.

Judge the DLC on its content, it is in fact the best DLC for content as it probably adds the most stuff and the most hours of game play.

In my opinion tho, i find the dialogue very humorous, the weapons and Armour exciting and powerful... but not overly powerful. The design of them was cool, some don't like the cyber dog gun, but it made sense with the DLC, and after being improved it actually was a really good gun.

Around 50 damage and 409 DPS with a skill of 100.

Its better for killing the "Lobotomies" rather then the Robo Scorpions.

The Player housing is probably the best addition tho. It allows many useful things, like useless items becoming useful, and your own auto doc that can heal for free, give haircuts, for free, do facial reconstruction for free, and even give you implants that are very useful.

The sink is the most helpful player housing, even if you don't visit there often. Its always the best place to craft, if you set it up right.
