I'd rather have as strong a single player RPG as possible, if that means no mutiplayer then so be it.

That said though if they somehow decide and figure out how to add it as a dlc or part of an xpac I'm not gonna say no to it.

also i think a lot of Bethesda's refusal for multiplayer stems from the way the AI system works. a lot of sandbox games with "living" AI stay single-player because it's apparently really [censored] hard to sync that [censored] over networks.

It's already been stated if there was an TES MMO it'd e created by another Bethesda division. As for multiplayer, not surprising. To create a seamless co-op that's NOT just a gimmick the whole game would have to be crafted around it. A half-assed Arena mode or something like that could also be implemented. Doesn't fit them apparently. So alright, 100% single player content for Skyrim. Cool.

I don't think there were many that thought multiplayer was going to be included with Skyrim, but perhaps this will put down alot of those who feel to ask if it will be included.

However, whether this series was meant to have multiplayer or not remains to be seen. It might be successful, or it might not, we might get multiplayer for the next TES game, who knows. I hope someday we will get, at the very least, Co-op.

The simple reason why there is no multiplayer in these games is because it would require hiring an extra multiplayer team on top of the people they already have, it would add in tons of new bugs, unsolvable gameplay problems with how they system would work...etc...

I wouldnt mind having some kind of leaderboards or stats area to compare playstyles/kills,etc... with others who have the game though. Arkham Asylum had no multiplayer but still took this approach.

I would actually like to just see a small multiplayer game that takes the combat elements of Skyrim so I can just have duels. Maybe mods can do it I dont know.

Yes this was the point to this particular thread. Cause' I'm havin a hard time tryin' to figure out why there is an official discussion thread for multiplayer/co-op when we already knew there it wasn't even in anyway.
