I distinctly remember Todd Howard saying they had 150 hand crafted dungeons to explore. I won't be expecting any more than that until DLC comes out.

2 is next to 1. It's likely a typo.

Not unlikely.

He just mixed up two numbers - 150 with 250.

That's what I'm thinking too, it's a huge jump between 150-250.

You also have to remember that OXM is run by a group of the mentally challenged.

If there was really "well over 250 dungeons" you'd be tripping over them. There would be a hole in the ground every 20 yards.

I guess this begs the question: what are they counting as a dungeon?

If it's what we would typically think of as a "dungeon" ( basically a dark, dank hole you rummage through or maybe some ruins) then that's a lot, if they include other points of interest/ things... it's still a lot of stuff.

If I remember correctly there were four types in OB:

Caves

Mines

Abandoned Forts

Aylied Ruins

Would be nice if it was 250 but I doubt that's correct. 150's plenty especially if they are both interesting and have the ability to have a good respawn rate like Rockmilk Cave from Oblivion.

I can't remember whether I heard it in the OB E3 demo or the making of the game but, it was stated that OB had over 200 Dungeons, of course they weren't hand crafted.

im not gonna believe it... we've now heard numbers ranging from 120 - 250

im just gonna ignore everything having to do with numbers in skyrim.

all i know is there are alot of dungeons and points of interest, thats all i need to know.

You mean like oblivion? :)

Todd did say theres "over 150 dungeons" in the game. 250 is over 150, and oblivion had close to that number I believe. Granted I doubt he'd use "over 150" to describe 250, and instead say "over 200" or something closer. am I suspicious? Yup, but it is within the realm of possibilities seeing as oblivion had that much.

Also, there could easily be over 150 unique dungeons and then another hundred or so generated ones. I'm sure they still have the program used for oblivions dungeons hanging around, and could tweak it for making more dungeons for skyrim.

150 Dungeons according to the Demo Video.

I think 250 Points of Interest total though. (100 Non-Dungeon Landmarks n such, which doesn't seem like a lot, but with anymore, I think you run the risk of feeling squished like New Vegas did)

Whatever it is, I don't really care because I know I'm only entering a dungeon if it's mandatory.
