Wouldn't see why Microsoft would be opposed to it as long as it was released by Bethesda.

Bethesda would have to buy the mod from the fan-modder... no big deal everyone wins. It'd have to just be a content mods, there couldn't be any graphical improvements.

The only problem is that some of the better mods wouldn't be free anymore for PC gamers.

actually modders don't win in that sense.

Beth owns everything, the mods are made with their assets allowing them to profit from the mod independant of the modder.

you see the implications.

This PodCast proves that you should never interview the Publisher, always interview the Developer. I think Zenimax has enough money to build a Robo Todd for that situation.

actually modders don't win in that sense.

In reality it should be the Mods who give Beth ideas and then Beth possibly implements them in the next game and then gives credit to the modder.

Well getting some fair lump sum as money for rights to sell your mod... I feel like thats more money than a modder can make on his mod otherwise...

and yeah:

^this too.

EDIT: and these bethesda should only be able to acquire the rights if the modder is willing to sell them.

but they are incorporating mod ideas from past games into the next installment, better they do that discreetly then base a DLC blatently from another modder. you wanted duel wielding, Hex off and company gave use Dual wielding, we have "fake" duel wielding for years (off hand weapons) and they are bringing that to Skyrim, Beth doesn't have to pay diddly to modders and in essense its the mod Idea they are using and erecting themselves. I do not think they'd go the lenght of copy paste and slap a Beth Tag on it....oh you know what I mean.

Most likely not something like "dual-wielding" because bethesda can do that themselves, but maybe something like an Expansion pack like Nehrim. Bethesda could even provide some voice acting and they'd STILL make money from that.

It's not like Bethesda would pretend like they made it. It could be called fanDLC or something, and credit is given to the Modder

You should make a poll for this. I'm confident BGS will come up with sweet DLC.

I don't think there were any actual lifelike portraits of Liu Bei. Painting in China at that time wasn't so advanced. I found this online

Because once Bethesda owns the rights to it, it wouldn't be third party content anymore, so bethesda could release it. They would probably have to edit some of these mods so they are suitable for the console and the ESRB.

maybe not. I got my own idea now though. I think it makes sense legally (not that that would happen). I definitely don't know all the intricacies of microsoft and 3rd party content though, so i could easily be wrong.

you're a fan of Morrowind, not of the Elder Scrolls. that's no different from a lot of other people on this board. keep replaying Morrowind until you get tired of it and move on to something else. stop posting here.

Come on, dude, the hostility wasn't neccessary. Can't you just agree to disagree. Don't tell people to leave.

In reality if they released DLC in the form of say fully functional spears everyone on these forums would be ecstatic. Quality over quantity, and there really are some DLC like Spears or perhaps more factions that could take the place of full fledged expansions that people would love and pay for (myself included).

I don't really see a big loss if they stop making expansions if the trade off is more and better DLC. My opinion on the matter.

I'm surprised people are more focused on what Pete said about DLC rather than what he said about not wanting players to feel lost. He said something along the lines of making sure the player always knows where to go even after going off the beaten path for hours at a time. It's safe to say the compass and quest markers will work exactly the same as Oblivion.

Interesting how someone could do an interview for 20+ minutes and not ask a single question about the game.

Nice to hear Pete out and about talking to the press again though. Must mean its getting close to playing a new Bethesda game again!

That would be dissappointing :( I hope the "no hud" feature means no quest compass either. If we can have 20 active quests at a time, I can't picture having 20 green arrows at once :)

umm... whats with the itunes hatred?

Well, personally, I don't like the interface, I've had a lot of trouble with it in the past and it's on my families main computer and seems to want to update every other day, requiring you to download the whole program all over again. I just use Windows Media Player.

then you must have cringed when todd insinuated the itunes interface was a good model for Skyrims UI.
