I'm sure Bethesda are aware of what works in Fallout and what works in TES, so don't worry your little soul :P.

I trusted them with Oblivion, and we all saw how that worked.

And how was it? That Oblivion turned out to be like Fallout??? That doesn't even make sense. And even a tweet by Pete Hines himself already indicated their stance on this matter:
@Rhysuzaki Multiple. We aren't making a Fallout game. We are making an ES game. What works in one doesn't necessarily work in the other.

No offense, but judging from the general tone of your posts here (and your choice of sig and display name to boot) strikes me off that your pessimism is just for the sake of being pessimistic. Chill out boyo. A break from any TES news would be best for you in my opinion.

Daggerfall was so bland and boring that I wouldn't mind a revision. In particular I'd like to see a game set in hammerfell. high rock, not so much, but it can't be worse than the daggerfall cut and paste.

- There are caravan escorts? (Would give us some nice hope for travel services... or at least some cool quests. Still, I hope for travel services)

I interpreted that to be an example of the Radiant Story quests they talk about. As you become good friends with a merchant, he may offer you a quest to escort a shipment from city to city. The typical follow this NPC and slay anything that attacks it type quest.

I don't like this particular quote. Sure, fallout might have some positive influences, but the concept that it could in part be inspiration for Skyrim is unsettling.
Not that that is what it actually says, but the possibility...

And that was found http://www.oxm.co.uk/26165/interviews/exclusive-inside-the-elder-scrolls/

Then you didn't quite understand it. He's tracing back to te fact he finds his recent games accomplishments for one, while acknowledging that their not perfect but more was gained then lost in each. You probaby understood up to there. If you go deeper what he means bethesda's come away from these experiences is comming away stronger on aspexts like technical to world building, etc. This experience is in turn used for the next. Dev teams come away influenced by every game they create. But this doesn't mean different IPs or lores mix i.e. Fallout and Elder Scrolls. The teams just better equiped to make a game than past tries. ((You would hope. I'm more scare of Bethesda's writimg and storytelling abilities at the moment. I'm sure the game world and gameplay will be top notch. Their a good studio. And they don't like letting down fans. But their writing aspects have suffered. I really hope they improved. As an old Black isle fan I really hope the eventual Fallout 4 won't be botched.)). P.s. Sorry for spellig errors. Typed from a touch screen.

It's really encouraging stuff to be reading. I picked up the magazine today too, there's a 3 page report on some stuff we've already heard.

£5 for 3 pages...

...but it's Elder Scrolls, so I'll let myself off.

Containment of excitment is futile.

I wouldn't mind revisting High Rock in the next game, I loved Daggerfall, but never got so far into it. Seeing it in better graphics would be awesome. Although, an expansion would be better. Even if the expansion only covered part of High Rock like the Daggerfall region or something.

Carelessly drop an axe in a forest during an afternoon's bear-slaying, for instance, and a merchant chum might retrieve it for you later. Behead him as punishment for running his filthy, lucre-loving fingers all over your prized weapon, and he won't be able to enlist you as a caravan escort - but his unsuspecting widow might. You get the idea.

BEHEAD???? I′ve read BEHEAD??? Will we have dismemberments???? Is that true? :woot:

How about an expansion pack that allows us to travel to Daggerfall via boat from Solitude? The city itself could be good enough for a small DLC.

Thanks for posting, very impressed that Skyrim has been in development for about 5 years with 100 people. Didn't expect it to be that long in development already. The examples about the Radiant engine makes me go *_*

This makes me more optimistic about Skyrim being a little weirder and interesting.

Yep.

Sheesh, will they ever stop using this 'drop item and NPC picks it up' example? It sounds like that's all they do! :P

what interests me the most is he uses the phrase "behead" i think this means cutting off limbs is in and that makes me happy as long as its realistic

We probably shouldn't take it too literally

Purely to avoid disappointment.

I'd like to ask the same question.

I think they may have exaggerated. :sadvaultboy:

This gave me a smile :) and made me even more confident that bethesda learned from some of their "mistakes" in Oblivion.
