Packaging a large mod

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 3:06 pm

I'm having trouble remembering all of the meshes and textures I used in my mod and including them in the package, is there some kind of tool that automatically outputs a list of all new meshes/textures in a mod, or something like that?

+1 --- makes packaging a mod sooooo much easier -- Not only makes a list of them but packages it all up for you at the same time !

its generally good not to put your meshes/textures all over the data folders, it makes it very hard for a user to remove your mod.

A good practice is to has a folder in meshes and a folder in textures which the rest of your stuff inside it.

eg.
Meshes\MyTown\....
Textures\MyTown\...

then the user only need to delete those two folder to remove your mod.

I'm using many modders resources and I'd have to change the texture paths for about 2000 meshes for that to work.

TES4Files has a function that allows you to create a BSA archive for your mods resources. I'd suggest doing that, since it would make installation/removal very easy.
