[Concept] Pain and Bleeding (Maybe more)

Greetings,

Ever since I got New Vegas I have always played on hardcoe mode, I find it to be much more interesting when I have to plan out things like sleep, food, and water, and that a broken leg does not heal up with a quick injection. But, I feel that it needs more. Yeah, your character may have a crippled leg but they can still run, albeit with an odd gait. And other than losing some HP you are otherwise unaffected by those two bullets you took to the torso, provided they did not cripple you. So, I am proposing, and have started working on a little, the idea that getting hurt, well... hurts!

I have basic working code already, but it is simple and something I just slapped together in a few hours, but here is what I hope to eventually achieve. Please feel free to post comments and suggestions about any of this, that is why I am making the topic.

All of this is only active in hardcoe mode by the way.

Pain:
The first aspect of the mod is pain. When you get hurt you experience a sudden spike of pain, if it is bad enough your character is knocked over from the muscle spasm, but they quickly get back up. The pain will slowly dull down to a minimum level based on your character's injuries (Lost HP + limb damage).

Running with a badly injured leg will also cause pain and if crippled the leg can also randomly go out on the character if they try to run on it, making them fall over.

The effects of pain are, at the moment, still very much indeterminate. But, so far I figure that bad pain will negatively affect aim, action points, speed, and perception. I also am working on interesting visual effects like vision randomly going blurry or doubled for a few seconds, severe pain causing you to collapse for a moment, or if it gets bad enough, to even black out.

I plan to create an aspirin item (Retexed Buffout Bottle) that will reduce pain some, and make a “Pain Killer” syringe that reduces it greatly but also dulls perception.

Player's Endurance may play a factor in pain.

Bleeding:
So, you just took a bullet to the belly, and lost some HP, now what? Well, now you start bleeding. Based on the severity of the wound you will begin losing health. It is a slow loss, it takes several seconds to even lose 1 point, but it can add up (For example in a test last night, as the code stands now, I did 100 damage to my character exactly and they lost another 31 HP from bleeding over the next several minutes before it finally stopped.). Bleeding will slowly drop to zero over time as the wound clots.

I will need a bandage item to reduce bleeding. Not fully stop bleeding though as you will still lose a trickle, but it will greatly help.

Low health will now also result in weakness in the form of reduced melee and unarmed damage, worse aim, lower strength, and possibly an AP penalty. You will also suffer visual effects in the form of vision going gray occasionally or even black out.

Endurance may play a factor in when these effects kick in.

Nasty Super hardcoe Ideas:
The following are only thoughts and may or may not be included as they would raise the difficulty significantly. Thoughts and advice are highly desirable.

- Healing rate from sleeping reduced
- Stimpacks no longer heal but only boost health, basically acting as a stimulant to keep you going longer.
- Med-X becomes “Morphine”, though name may stay Med-X the function will be to reduce pain instead of damage.
- Doctor's Bags are less effective.
- VERY Slow HP Regeneration is added.

So, overall thoughts and ideas?
