Paladin build

Yea I wouldn't worry about this in the long run, Captain Kronos (although I admire your tenacity towards your LG paladin).

...It's not that big of a crime, first of all. Secondly, your character really didn't mean to do it that way. The door was locked when it shouldn't have been, and you got curious as to why. In the future though, just note that shops don't always open exactly when they're supposed to. Just like NPCs aren't always to be found where they're supposed to be found.

Do some sort of atonement (as Averae says). Go to jail, be shamed for awhile. But then get back on your feet at some point and keep up the good works.

My paladin has made a couple mistakes. Once she went to talk to somebody, for instance, but a horse was standing next to her. So when I pressed the Activate button, she (of course) wound up getting on the horse! The NPC attacked her, and Dyan immediately just started yielding in battle (instead of attacking back or running away). Eventually, the NPC (it was a farmer) finally yielded, everything was cool.

Thank you Avarae and Renee for your kind words and suggested work around.

Unfortunately it's got worse! I completed the Battle for Kvatch and, you guessed it, when I went to sleep to level up you know who showed up, aaaggghhh. Now I've got that blinking dagger of woe gathering dust in my inventory. I didn't see any message during the battle so obviously missed it for once (I usually reload from a previous save when I see that message, this I do for all my characters).

Looks like my Paladin is jinxed, I would restart but don't really want to go through the very tedious mage guild reccommendation quests again. Well, not for some time at least.

Think I'll mothball my Paladin until I feel like restarting and go back to my randomly generated character Amaury Moreau.

Thanks again.

Too bad about the Mystic Emporium snafu. When I run into game glitches like that, I usually just go out of character and do whatever's necessary to correct it

YEa, that's another thing. No excessive shows of wealth. Old-skool paladins keep it real by not having multiple houses full of nice stuff.

I added a little farmhouse next to the Priory of the Nine for my dremora Kyraz, right behind the stables, just for that reason. He collected things now and then like pottery or vases of flowers, but had no use for anything fancy. He'd never worn anything but his old robe either -- I think a lot of his humility came from not originating as a mortal on Nirn, so materialism had never been important to him. He also collected gems, but just because they were sparkley and colourful.

He tipped and tithed as well, always giving to beggars when they'd ask, and often leaving a basket of food outside the chapels when he was in town.
