Paladin Danse - Can he be hired?

After completion of Blind Betrayal, he is not responding to requests to talk to. Why? Is he locked out? :banghead:

If you stood up for him during Blind Betrayal, then yes, he will be available as a companion. You just can't take him around to the Prydwen, Airport or Police Station. Did you leave the bunker after your final talk and then come back?

Wonder why anyone would wish to travel with Danse AFTER he's been kicked out of the Brotherhood...?

Not much of a companion then...

I just left him in his bunker (and went to visit him occasionally).

You need to go to the airship to talk to Maxson first, once you get promoted to Paladin, come back there and you can recruit him again, but he will no longer a companion at any point you become enemy with the BoS.

Hey now, be nice to my husband LOL (well Catherine Bellamy's husband I should say hehe). I love to travel with Danse. The fun part is, when I went to clean out a Super Mutant stronghold, a vertibird showed up and dropped some Paladins. Of course they targeted Danse and he brought down the bird and was then turning on the Paladins, while I was fighting some Legendary Warlord and a Master. I was like, you go Danse hahahaha I was still in good standing with the BoS though. :D

Ok so is it because I've destroyed the brotherhood and am friends with the institute why I can not hire him? Just wanted to get his perk!

Agrona,

Yikes!

This would help someone who had been in the Brotherhood to follow the Railroad or Institute endings!

Never occurred to me.

You could 'turn' on the Brotherhood - and hey, Danse is already there! LoL

And here I started a new guy, because I wasn't going to destroy them after being friendly and a member...

The deeper one digs, the more finely crafted this game reveals itself to be.

(A masterpiece, IMO)

Yes, Danse is still a BoS member, and he still believes in their teaching, so he won't talk to you ever again if you destroy the BoS, so you're screwed out of Danse's perk.

Thankfully I have a save to go back to now knowing that all I need do is get his perk then destroy the brotherhood! :dmc:

I love how he yells for the Brotherhood before shooting down all the BoS members though. :P

I get Danse out of his armor mostly to play dress up.

I love the current BoS uniform I have on him, need to install a hairy chest mod though.

I have to agree with this. Danse is my favorite, but the post BB situation is untenable. I don't do the BOS questline anymore. I get Danse and do the MQ via the MM so I can keep him with me and avoid the post BB hassles with the BOS.

@Battlebloodmage - That BOS uniform is gorgeous and is perfect for Danse. I like to play dress up with him too. He looks amazing in the tuxedo.
