Paladins missing from Blackrock Mountain

Post » Sat Nov 13, 2010 8:23 am

As stated in the title, the BoS paladins at Blackrock Mtn (which carry the holodisks needed to complete the "Still in the Dark" Quest) have disappeared. The only thing in the pit is Moe.

i have already killed Tabitha, but i skipped checking out the pit until i got this quest. i hope killing Tabitha doesn't somehow break this quest...

Are there any solutions to this problem? I was thinking of just using console commands to skip these section of the quest, but i would prefer a solution that lets me complete the quest properly, as choosing who to give those holodisks to is a quest- in and of itself.

EDIT: can't believe i called Black mtn, Blackrock mtn! just shows how insidious WoW can be even years after playing it.

Tabitha should have no effect on this quest, and those Paladins may not even be there until the quest you are on is active.

Now, you say they are not there, are you sure you are looking in the right place? Is the quest in fact assigned to you in the Pipboy?

And, try this, go somewhere else, save the game, exit out and reboot the syste, load it up again and go back. It could be the cell did not render properly and the Palidins will be there when you come back. Some say you can exit the game in place and then start it right back up again, but I like to clear all the buffers first.

ty for the tips

I got the quest called "Still in the Dark," if i recall correctly, that tells me to find them. I am pretty sure i am in the right place (the crater behind Black mtn with Moe in it) as i am pretty sure i found them there with my last char.

i tried fast-traveling across the map, saving, restarting my pc, and fast-traveling back with the same result- no BoS paladins.

anyone know of any other tricks? i really would like to finish this quest without using console commands.

I have never met this problem, as one of the things I always do is to collect the holodisks from all three locations as well as collecting certain items needed for another quest from three other locations before going to the BoS bunker.

This is weird. Have you tried putting a bunch of C4 in the bottom of the crater and setting it off? You can always reload your game after testing this. Possibly they're sunk into the ground and it would reveal them?

I tried to get the sniper rifle from the bunk in the Recon tent at McCarran and it wasn't there and someone suggested it may have sunk into the bunk. That's why I suggest trying this. Good luck.

i decided to skip that holodisk and try to get the other ones and it appears the pair of paladins near the Boomers is also gone.

maybe since i have been to these areas before, the BoS were deleted? next time ill just grab 'em the first around

Try using your local map in your PiPboy to key in to the exact destination spot.

I have not done the BOS enough to get tired of all the walking. Yet.

Good to know they are there for the playthroughs when I am.

I am dreading the Virus part the next time....

The Virus part is really very simple ...

Spoiler
instantly save your game at the start. After finding a terminal it is on reload that save, go to that terminal as fast as you can, isolate, and save quickly. Look for the next terminal it is on. If you run out of time just reload the save and continue searching. After finding the correct terminal it is on, reload the save and then go to that terminal as fast as you can get there and isolate the Virus and save the game quickly again. Do the same for the next terminal.
