Paradise Falls

Post » Sun Mar 21, 2010 4:01 pm

Well, I stumbled across the charming settlement of Paradise Falls today, and upon talking with the guard, was told that to gain entrance I had to either pay him an absurd amount of caps or to enslaave people. I'm a good karma player so that wasn't really me. Basically I want in and as I see it I have to get rid of everyone in there :nuke: hehe, well what I'm asking is how difficult is it to overthrow paradise falls, what is the level needed, what weapons, how much ammo, how many stimpacks, ect...OR is there a better way. Thanks in advance everyone!

I've did this several times so i would suggest an automatic weapon (Chinese/assault rifle or mini gun) and a crap load of ammo and stimpacks. In terms of tactics I would suggest as soon as to get in kill the people from the right 'cause thats the barracks then go round the corner and you will encounter a few more dudes, kill them, then go look around and free the little slave children :D :D :D

You can bribe Grouse at the front gate without having to do the Strictly Business quest. If I recall, its about 500 caps, with a speech check. That's the way I got in. Its not too much.

If you kill everyone then you lose all the resources available there. Most importantly, you will not be able to recruit Clover to your team.

If you're convinced they simply must die, it's not difficult to clear out Paradise Falls. Make use of the buildings. Duck inside a building if you get overwhelmed. If I were you, I would lower my karma and hire Clover before beginning my spree otherwise you'll miss out on the opportunity to have her accompany you on your travels.

Agreed. There's a central building in the complex, IIRC think it's the leader's headquarters. I forget his name now. If you can clear that and make it to the second floor, there's a balcony you can use that gives you a good vantage point in order to take everyone out in the courtyard. Be sure to place some mines in all the accesses to the second floor. I was able to clear almost the entire camp from that balcony without taking too much damage, and the mines I placed took care of several people who tried to reach me from inside the building.

The Economics of Violence. Twenty Chinese Assault Rifles to Pronto in the Lock 'n' Load store. Way too much, in my opinion. The Chinese Assault Rifle is a rare and valuable item. On my current playthrough I didn't find one until level 6, and now I treasure it.

In any case, you need to get past the front gate before you can start this mini-quest. :)

Hey those guys give me ammo every time I visit, cut it out!
My good character got in with a Speech Check, made some friends, did some looking around, then at night I Stealth Boyed and proceeded to lay down the 20 or so mines I had brought with me, as fast as I could. Then I turned around, stood up and killed 40 to get the party started.

I usually use the Child at Heart perk to get into Little Lamplight, so I don't have to hit Pardise Falls until I want to. Then. I get Cross and Fawkes on my side together (there's a glitch that allows this). I use my weapon of choice (usu. A3-21, Xuanlong, or Lincoln), give Cross nearly anything (her tag skills are Small Guns, Buig Guns, and Energy Weapons), and Fawkes has his gatling laser. It's a short, one-sided battle.

I'm pretty much a goody-twoshoes character, but I will steal when I can so I'm not perfect. I didn't want to give Grouse all those caps but I did want to clean those guys out of there after freeing the slaves. What I decided to do was enslave 3 of the 4 VIPs they want -- I'd already killed Arkansas. I did that and then enslaved Dukov's two hokers or [censored]s -- and earned 500 caps. What I didn't realise until I was looking at this forum was that I can free the VIPs but the two [censored]s will just disappear from the game. I feel badly about that, but it's done.

So I now have free entry to Paradise Falls and will do what a man's got to do. I also waited until I got the Railway Rifle to do this and I'm looking forward to firing that baby in VATS!

OP's character is a goody-good chump, why would he want Clover as a follower?

When OP gets sick of SPC's yammering trap and Fawkes' kill-stealing, Clover will look pretty good to him/her, regardles of karma requirements.

You can get plenty of Chinese Assault rifles at Mama Dolces, just go to Arlington. You can also get your first Chinese Assault Rifle during Those! in the kid's house. It's in crappy condition, of course, but you can get it fixed by a vendor. If you don't wanna deal with the ants just yet, just run in, get the rifle and take off.

If you were a 19 year old boy in the outside world for the first time after spending your entire life in a severely sixually repressed society who would you choose to pal around with if you could choose only one? A super mutant, a ghoul, a robot, Butch, a ex-Raider, a woman old enough to be your mother.....or Clover?

SPC's yammering crap is better than "I'm bored." "Can I have a better gun?" all the damn time.

Forget all the followers. I work alone.

I am playing a good karma character, and modded the game to make Clover recruitable regardless of karma, and have her use Jericho's assault rifle instead of that sword. Then I went to Paradise Falls, paid the bribe to get in (This character has tons of caps, so no big deal), and bought Clover. I stepped out of Eulogy Jones' place and almost immediately one of the Slavers said some smack to me. So I pulled out some bottlecap mines and placed them at the choke points leading to that area. Then went back to the slaver who talked crap, put my shotgun against his head, and blew it off. Two more v.a.t.s. shots later, and two more Slaver heads go flying. That takes care of all the Slavers in the immediate area. Of course the Slaver up in the tower starts up with his minigun, so Clover pulls her assault rifle and gives it back. Most of the others start running in and meet my mines. In the meantime I pull out my Fatman and start dropping mini-nukes. After only two of those it was just a matter of mopping up the few survivors with Clover.

That's why I think Sydney and Brick should be available as permanant followers. They're hotter than she is, they have much awesomer weapons, and you don't have to buy them from a loathsome bag of dog vomit in a fancy red suit.

I like Clovers coments because it’s very realistic for a grunt :) She get bored then I use to long time searching for loot or trying to do a snipe, want better equipment; the unique Chinese assault rifle, Lincolns repeater, the terrible shotgun, kneecapper, the ultra smb and vengeance is not good enough and I agree with her.

 Ha ha! Excellent point!

I once stood at my 10th birthday party and read all to scrolling messages on the lighted wall display. It's pretty funny stuff, and one of the lines is, "Procreation is Your Duty!", but I don't get the impression they just allow anyone to partake.

Amata says, "Ew, cut it out!" or something like that when she wakes you up and you tell her you were just dreaming about her, so I don't think there's much more than frustration there. You get the same response playing as a girl, which is something interesting to think about--

...mmm...

...thinking...

...OK, ahem, anyway, even then having a hot sociopath in a pink dress and a slave collar telling you she'll do "Anything you want, Lover..." would be pretty hard to resist.

Hehe, yeah, she's the most obvious choise, indeed, appellant as she is, but she's definately not infusing much self-confidence in the player. Her talking about Eugene is slightly offensive, but the "can I have a better gun?"-remark is outright humiliating.

How to clear Paradise Falls:

1) Obtain MIRV
2) Enter Eulogy Jones’s lair. Go up to the outside balcony
3) Rain down nuclear hellfire

Also effective for clearing Evergreen Mills

How to clear out Paradise Falls:

  • Obtain CSA or a stack of Stealth Boys
  • Obtain a large stockpile of grenades or mines - preferably Pulse mines since they're almost useless for any other purpose and you don't need to run away.
  • Secretly give everyone in Paradise falls an early Christmas present

My advice would be to kill the people in the front of Paradise Falls, once your inside, find the gun shop.Run in and kill the guy inside, there are a lot of weapons in there.Usually when you come out there will be a lot of people waiting to kill you outside so be ready. You should have plenty of ammo to kill everyone but watch out for the main slaver. He has a strong gun so you might want some cover. He has blew my head off a few times :D

I agree in principle...they should have put in a "Girl Who Kicks Ass" companion option for a male LW who wants to stay Good, I get bored with accessing Moriarty's terminal dozens of times until I become "evil" enough to buy Clover without murdering people. Star Paladin Cross doesn't count as she knew the LW as a infant (and possibly even changed his diapers) so is almost certain to have zero romantic interest in him. From the initial dialog with Sarah Lyons at GNR (and Elder Lyon's holotapes) I thought she was going to be it, but it never panned out in the vanilla game then you get the "I wish things were different" speech after BS. I wonder if the devs were planning on offering her as a love interest at some point then chickened out.
