Paralysis

Lets not think of only ourselves here. The Elder Scrolls series is not tailored to your likes or dislikes. They leave many things open for millions of different players to choose what they prefer. Mages by nature are supposed to be freakishly powerful! They throw fireballs and shoot lightning! To limit the ability to become a demigod is very inconsiderate of others. Paralysing someone and then killing them while they are incapacitated is very cruel. Nevertheless if you want to enchant your blade with 1 second of paralysis from every strike, you should be able too.

I know its been said before but.....

Its a single player game. If you find a power or such to overpowering try not to use it. And if you cannot control yourself with sch freedon that is your fault.
In RPGs I like to give some of my characters basic rules of morals/conduct/combat/tendencies/etc. Try to do something similar, its alot of fun.
Say your character has a thing against soul trapping or using poison against enemies.

Control yourselves guys!

Do not hinder others gameplay simply because you feel it is cheating. Play the game how you want, but don't affect others.

I think people need to keep in mind, that in real life, things are not always balanced. and so it should be in a good game, you will not alway find balance in everything, some things should be more powerful.

Now don't get me wrong, I think Paralysis could use some tweaking to get it right, but I also accept that it is generaly a very overpower technique. My grandfather was Australian Special Forces, and he could paralyze you with a specific nerve hold. Now I'm sure the rowdy guys he helped through out of pubs would agree that it was unbalanced.

The point I'm trying to make is Paralysis is a powerful ability, I think instead of trying to nerf it, it should be a harder spell to master.

Paralysis was OP because a 1s spell would last in fact 5-6s the time it took for the target to stand up. They should have implemented Paralysis not as that ragdoll effect but as a kind of complete petrification of the target in place so that as soon as the effect wear off, he's back in condition to fight instantly.

I missed your post before... that is actualy a realy good idea. Fatigue drain should cause ragdoll, and Paralysis could just freeze them in place like in morrowind.
Not a bad way to even things out.
