Particular GFX crashing my comp! (GRASS!)

I was walkin' down the street (or what was left of it) until I had to take a detour to reach Rivet City. After a few steps, I notice strange stuttering, which I am quick take for an anomaly - after all, my FPS has almost constantly been maxed with the highest settings throughout the game. As I trod deeper into the shrubberies though, the stuttering grows into a lag, and... OH [censored]! IT'S THE GRASS!! THE SAME KILLER GRASS I HAD TO TURN OFF IN OBLIVION! FFFFUUUUUUU -and my computer blacks out, leaving me to listen to the looping background music, until I force a restart.

Now, I realize this must be an issue on my end, since I haven't heard much about problems with the grass, but I'm very curious & would be thankful if someone would let me know what's IN YOUR GRASS? :D What kinda gfx effect could possibly cause my gfx-card go nuts and overheat until shutdown?

Grass is the main culprit, but I think the same ingredient exists also in Oblivion candlelight, aaand umm, the kinda red dust/flame magic effect you get in Oblivion when you kill someone with a magical something. :P

Thanks!
