Party sizes?

Post » Mon Sep 21, 2009 5:48 am

Anyone know how large the party sizes will be? How big will an multplayer game be? 12 v. 12? Also, will there be clan support? Anything beyond a tag maker? Like in-game clan list, etc.

Party size, limits on your online party for console depends on what system you have, parties can be up to 8 in game if thats what your asking.
read the compendium (link in my sig) for an answer to ALL your questions.

8 v. 8

Thanks! Any idea about clan support? 8 v. 8 kinda stinks. It's a wee bit small IMO.

its more than Call of Duty which is the most popular FPS in the world, so it seems fine to me

nah srry
i don't know that much about that kind of technical stuff
but 8 v. 8 is good since its squad based and you gotta work together
more than 8 may be too much
and if u want like uber info read the compendium

8v8 is fine. Not too big or small. It fits the objective based multiplayer. Besides if you want a huge game go play MAG or something.

*cough*fanb0y alert*cough* :violin: Man, that hobby is evolving all the time. It used to be, you wouldn't see the fanb0y's come out and blindly defend games until after release. But a few months before, that's a first. Guy's chill, I'm not saying its a bad game, just saying I wished there were a few more people. I do have MAG and I do enjoy filling entire platoons (32 people) for strategic attacks. So yes, it is possible to have an objective based multiplayer with more than 8 people fighting together; which I'm sure you knew...

Couple things... First, it's not more than Call of Duty. COD is actually 9 v 9 (Ground War.) Secondly, popular does not mean good. The Ford Taurus is sold a lot, but it's a piece of junk made for the masses and not really anything for someone interested in quality. I'm not looking for a HUGE game per se, was just hoping to see something more like 12 v. 12. I guess as long as the party and clan support is good, its a win. It certainly looks good. I'm just hoping you can group up and talk prior to games and such. I'd prefer not to have the join-lobby-only-junk.

Yea, I figured as much. Unfortunately I'm a PS3 guy so I will have to deal with the limitations of 2005 hardware technology (I think the release of the PS3?).

I do have to say, compared to all the FPS's coming out in the coming months (Medal of Honor, COD BlackOps, Blacklight, Rage, Killzone 2) I am the most excited about this game. The look, feel, depth and customization look awesome. I was just really hoping for some good multiplayer and community support so I could sell my "clan" on getting into it. For me, gaming is so much more fun when running against people with some cool guys on the mic. I find sitting around gaming like a lone wolf boring as h3ll. It's almost like going to the movies or out to dinner by yourself... haha...

I've always debated getting into PC gaming but the word on the street (at least in the console world) is that it's an intense waste of cash. Your success is typically tied to your technology and how much money you can plow into it. Newer PC's and Laptops always win out, or so I am told. In the console world, the playing field is equal which is nice. I just played a little MAG and had the platoon MVP spot with a 43-18 KDR. Had it been in the PC world, maybe I would have only been 16-15 because I didn't spend enough to buy the latest alienware PC? Again, I am probably way off base but it's what I've heard. :)

certainly not sir, skills over HW. sure u do have to met sys. specs. but does a more expensive graphic card, more ram enhance your gaming? surely no. maybe ppl think a super light weight mouse may help them excel, but actually that's all vanity. if you do not train, no hw can make up for that...

The game is 8 vs 8.

BUT if you have a PC, just like most games, there will definantly be a dedicated server which would have been modded to allow for those extra amount of players :D

I thought so too! lol But to be fair, my reply wasn't super cheery either. I think I may have used the dreaded term "fanb0y". :flamethrower:

Good comments about PC gaming. I will have to check it out, maybe it's not as bad as I've heard.

So do we have any Idea for the Numbers for PC

I am thinking Multi-player / Co-op, wise or are they just gonna just use dedicated severs to help remove some of the problems with lag? (I hated seeing the dam signal bar on my PC it just not right is it.)

They key words being "word on the street". That's street lingo for, "I heard it from other people who play PC games". I have no experience which is why I said it that way. So no, *I* am not way off.

I am well aware of what the "word on the street" means, I was informing you that what you heard was way off. I apologize if me accusing you of not knowing what you are talking about offended you.
