During a recent Steam sale, I purchased Fallout 3 GOTY to take advantage of the extra DLC. I had already purchased Fallout 3 retail some time ago. Since I own the steam version, I wanted to pass my retail version to a family member. I would be passing on all contents of the retail game including the disk, manual, CD key, and game case.

My question is: Is this possible? Is the game (CD key) tied to my GFWL account?

I have never used GFWL and thus never needed a CD key (didn't know one existed). Especially if you are using mods the odds are GFWL will be disabled in your game to avoid problems.


I don't see a reason there should be any issues, but then again I got the retail version of the original game and DLC from Microsoft store..
