Introduction
Passive Armor Skills is a Mod designed to allow the Player’s Light Armor and Heavy Armor Skills to increase passively over time whilst these types of armour are being worn. That is, simply wearing Heavy Armor or Light Armor will produce Skill Experience, regardless of whether or not the Player actually takes damage whilst wearing this armor.
When a piece of Light or Heavy Armor is equipped, a counter will begin to increase in the background; the more pieces of Light or Heavy Armorthe Player equips, the faster this counter will increase. Once the counter reaches a pre-determined value, the Player will gain one-round of Skill Experience for either Light Armor or Heavy Armor. At this point, the counter resets and the process begins again.
Customisation
Passive Armor Skills allows the Player to customise almost any aspect of the Mod. Customisation is accessed via the SkyUI MCM Menu.
Points Required
This section allows you to set the value the counter must reach before you gain a round of Skill Experience. This is roughly the number of seconds for which you must wear a single piece of Light or Heavy Armor. For example, if this was set to ‘10’, wearing a single piece of Light Armor would generate one-round of
Skill Experience every 10-seconds.
Note that the exact time taken is somewhat influenced by the number of Mods/Scripts you are running, and might end up slightly slower than anticipated.
It can be set independently for both Light Armor and Heavy Armor.
Default : Heavy Armor – 120 ; Light Armor - 120
Combat Multiplier
This section determines the consequence of being in Combat on your rate of gaining Skill Experience. If this value is a positive, the counter will increase faster whilst you are in Combat, resulting in a faster gaining of Skill Experience; if this value is a negative, the counter will increase more slowly whilst you are in Combat, resulting in a slower gaining of Skill Experience. It is measured in Percent.
Default : -20
Sneak Multiplier
This section determines the consequence of Sneaking on your rate of gaining Skill Experience. If this value is a positive, the counter will increase faster whilst you are Sneaking, resulting in a faster gaining of Skill Experience; if this value is a negative, the counter will increase more slowly whilst you are Sneaking, resulting in a slower gaining of Skill Experience. It is measured in Percent.
Default : -20
Effective Range
This section allows you to determine the Skill Levels between which the Player can passively gain Skill Experience. For example, if the minimum level is set to ‘five’, and the maximum level is set to ‘twenty’, then the Player will only passively generate Skill Experience between Skill Level Five and Skill Level Twenty—once they reached Level Twenty in either Heavy Armor or Light Armor, they would no longer passively gain Experience in that skill.
This can be set independently for both Light Armor and Heavy Armor.
Default : All Levels, for both Light Armor and Heavy Armor
Armor Types
This section allows you to choose which types of Armor will generate experience. Armor is divided into four categories: Helms, Cuirasses, Gauntlets, and Boots. Shields are not factored into Passive Armor Skills and will never generate experience. These can be toggled independently for both Heavy Armor and Light Armor.
Default : All Armor Types for both Light Armor and Heavy Armor.
Compatibility
Because Passive Armor Skills checks for the Keywords on Armor, as long as any Mod-added Armor is correctly set-up, it should be automatically compatible with Passive Armor Skills. You should therefore be able to use any Armor you want, Vanilla, DLC or Modded.
Known Issues
None right now, but it is a Beta so there may be unknown bugs.
As ever, it's released as a 'Beta' because I do not really get time for sufficient play for 'hard' testing; so if you find any bugs/issues, please let me know as soon as possible Hopefully everything should be working, since it all seems to be, but you know how it is
