Patch Causes game to crash while loading

Post » Fri Oct 29, 2010 3:54 pm

Alright, so I downloaded the patch and now my game crashes when I try to load any save (this is on XBOX 360). That's 2 characters I have that just won't load anymore. I also get the message about DLC information not being available, and I've tried deleting and reinstalling both Dead Money and the classic pack, but I still not only get the msg about DLC content missing, but my game still crashes. I have even tried deleting the title update, but it the saves STILL crash.

I know not everyone has experienced this kind of clusterf#%k on their copy of the game, but I've seen enough complaints to know I'm definitely not the only one.

The funny thing is I can't even e-rage and say I'm not playing this game until this has been dealt with, because I can't play this game even if I wanted to.

Cheers.

EDIT: Just downloaded the second patch and my saves work again and seem to be going smoothly. Nice.

It's a damn shame really, I was looking forward to playing the game again with a patch. Hopefully it'll be resolved soon (without me losing all my saves).

Wonder how many people this affected, I cannot open any of my save games on Xbox 360, no DLC or anything, really really annoyed, is it possible to rollback a patch on the 360?

this is so sad that they can't test a patch before releasing it that effects everyone whether they have the dlc or not. it makes me consider not purchasing skyrim when it comes out to avoid angry throw my controller moment's like this.
i had just picked this game back up hoping they had fixed it. really disappointed Bethesda!!

If you go by that, I'm afraid you will not be able to buy a single new game. :P

only good thing about this multiplatform release is, that the patch [censored] up the console users, totally deserved it for ruining the release on PC.

Nobody deserves nothing, neither the users, bot PC and Consoles, neither Bethesda nor Obsidian,

Bethesda confirmed on twitter that they are fixing this problem with Microsoft, that was enough info for me that they care about them and they hear them

If they really cared this wouldn't have been an issue cause the patch would have been tested properly and this would not have happened. This patch should never have been released in this state. This game is over 6 months old, they never thought people would have prior saves!??!?!?

Im having the same problem. What the hell. I started a new game no problem but I have multiple other files I want to play and they all say the downloadable content is no longer there and they require it toload

If they really never cared, then why they are trying to fix what is broken now, then they just should leave the problem unsolved and left the fans upset, But they are working along with Microsoft to prevent that

Well, I was almost done on hardcoe. LMAO
But I guess it will be fun doing it all over again.
Next time Bethesda make's a patch should test it against saved game's before the release.
But I hope the game will be more intriguing that some problems have been fixed.

Wanted to drop my .02 in...

I've been a Beth game player since '94 with Arena being my 1st Beth game.
I was one of the PC Beta Testing Team for Morrowind and expansions, back in the day... Yeah, yeah... bfd.

You know what the team complained about most with our many test releases? Feedback from the Devs.
You know how much feedback we got from the Devs compared to what the fans get now?
About 1000x more (see below).... and we still asked for more.

My point is that Beth/devs has ALWAYS listened to the fans and I suspect always will.
This should be obvious with the mere existence of GStaff (read into that one, buddy. ;) ).

Be pleased we have a Manager/GStaff, Hungery Donner, other insiders, what feedback we do get directly from the devs, Blogs, interviews, twitter AND Wiki...
Did I miss anything? ;)

Ain't that the truth, how many times have we heard soon? Or it's getting fixed.

Well, I'm pissed, great job Obsidian, Well it looks like we won't be seeing any new DLC for a month I'd say.

Whatever, there's no point being pissy about it. Hopefully the fix comes out sooner rather than later. They've responded to this quickly enough.
