[REL] Patch ENBoost

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 2:06 am

Recent version is ENBoost 0.282

Nexus mod link is here http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/332/?

Update 16 nov 2015: Published ENBoost 0.283

Update 15 nov 2015: Updated ENBoost 0.282 without version change, added bug fix which is visible as text on the character face.

Update 13 nov 2015: Published ENBoost 0.282 with workaround for Steam Overlay bug even when it's disabled. I hope someone will report this to Valve.

Update 13 nov 2015: Added memory control feature to avoid lod issues for users with not enough physical vram size and for future mods, modify enblocal.ini [MEMORY] category based on information reported by VRamSizeTest dx11 tool (do not set value bigger than reported by it). Added ApplyStabilityPatch parameter which toggles off bugfixes, but keep vram adjust feature.

Update 12 nov 2015: added DisableFakeLights parameter to turn off annoying back lighting of characters.

Hi folks

Released on my site patch for Fallout 4, it's based on my old experience of similar fixes of Skyrim, F3, FNV, Oblivion, Silent Hill, Resident Evil. It should fix some of your issues, but not tested myself because i don't have them. Please report results and incompatibility issues with other software.

I guess it's the most useful for users with 1-3 CPU cores, for thouse who suffer from stuttering even with hi-end hardware.

Good luck!

PS: plant interior is slow because of shadows from lights drawed there with badly optimized engine and resolution of shadows is 4096 set in Fallout4prefs.ini

Which issues are they supposed to fix? Is it PC only?

Of course it's PC only.

Fixes all kind of bugs produced by same mistakes made in the past by developers and not fixed ever. I can't answer which are they, because wrong multithreading code may cause very exotic issues or simple like bugs when using quick saving or when game lags even with high-end hardware.

The game just came out and we already have an unofficial patch? Awesome!

I'm trying not to sound like a jerk, but this is -not- an Unofficial Patch as you know it. This is a virtual graphics card ENB thing. This does not fix any bugs in Fallout 4.

I am very happy to see you working on an ENB dll for FO4, Boris. Huge thanks by the way for all the work you did for ENB authors for Skyrim.

The problem here is your use of "unofficial patch". my guess is you're well aware of this and are cashing in on the name recognition. pretty shady if you ask me.

Ah, NV. Yeah Arthmoor passed on doing the patch fo NV so this guy stepped in but he is not the keeper. Most likely Arthmoor will be at the helm again as he was for SK.

Well, it's your choice to use it or not, i just did what i can and others didn't. Just please don't post subjective [censored] in the topic if don't know my previous work, your behavior prevents other players to get what they may need.

Subjective? There is nothing subjective about you taking the name of a long standing mod that patches the game content. Just do the right thing and change it to "Unofficial ENB Patch". You know what's up, you already tagged it as ENB Patch so you know.

I don't think it's that. As far as I can tell, the author has identified some code design issues in FO4 which also existed in previous Bethesda games, and in those games caused bugs. As he's said, he hasn't actually identified any bugs caused by these code design issues in FO4, but considers that patching them can't do any harm and may help some people.

I haven't got any knowledge of the sort of issues he's talking about (he is extremely knowledgeable and talented), although with software I instinctively tend to the attitude "if you haven't got an identified bug arising from an identified cause, then best not mess around because you may just provoke an underlying issue into throwing up actual bugs".

If you trust the author as a software engineer (which many, many people do) and you have inexplicable issues with FO4 crashing, then this may just help.

Thanks man, I can't wait for people to mod with ENB. I'm not not good at it, but there are a few out there that I love their work. I appreciate your hard work for all those games I use ENB.

I believe Arthmoor is only into TES. He wasn't involved in Fallout 3 unofficial patching either.

But like happened with YUP, there will be people making patches.

Thanks for effort making the graphics fixes! Does it remove the whitewash look? Or maybe do you know way to remove that?

It's a pack of author's fixes to F4's engine renderer. Just like the performance fixes released for new vegas ealier when it had it's release.

I've installed it and got some extra smothness to my already smooth GTX 750 Ti experience. It doesn't hurt to try.

BTW: If you have a problem with the name itself I have a bad news for you: Everyone can name their mod/fix/creation/ whatever he wants.

Yes, anyone can name their mod almost whatever they want. But when you call your ENB system "Unofficial Patch", you should expect people to be understandably confused.
