Patch for 360

Post » Tue Sep 28, 2010 7:26 pm

Did you receive an update for the Xbox or for the game? Small detail with a huge difference.

it was for the game, but as it turned out, it only updated because i havent played it in awhile. from what i've read here, the cache is only so big, and more recently played games will bump older updates to make room.

Same problem here. For all my 'old' (i.e. created before update was installed) saves, the game complains about 'missing dlc.' For the saves associated with one character (level 33, in sierra madre), the warning message is displayed, but it still loads fine. For another character (level 19, in the wasteland (haven't visited sierra madre yet)), it displays the warning message, and then freezes during the loading screens. This is true of all the saves associated with these two characters. I really don't get it :(

Thanks Bethe$da/Ob$idian for f*cking the game up again. New Vegas has been an embarrassment from the beginning. Dead Money was just a money grab/joke on us all.

i blame obsidian, who developed NV. bethasda developed FO3. people tell me it's still bethesda's fault because they let it go through, but i still blame obsidian. too many awesome games by bethesda, (elderscrolls, FO3,etc) with only minor issues.

Gosh, okay guys, just because New Vegas is buggy doesnt means that was a bad game, that is completely subjective, I blame both Companies, Obsidian for not having a good programming staff, and Bethesda for not delaying the game

...now i agree with you completely. i guess because i love FO3 and Oblivion so much, bethesda can do no wrong, in my eyes.

is this the most "anticipated" dlc of all time or what..? too bad it's got us all on this forum typing away, instead of playing it.

Bethesda Softworks just need to announce the DLC and then ObsIdian release it, but with the patch issues, this pretty much got delayed again until PS3/360 users got their problem fixed (I dont know nothing about PC issues, yet)

while I am itching to download this patch I'm going to try and practice some restraint. At least until tomorrow. Then I'll most likely press my luck. Thank god the draft is on tonight to keep me busy

I decided to hold off before weighing in and see how the update worked. Short answer, it doesn't. I downloaded the update for my Xbox (I'm in the UK). Got the warning emssage about DLC content that's been mentioned, but the game wouldn't load at all, despite repeated attempts and restarts. I've now deleted the patch and disconnected my Xbox from my network for good measure.

I'm not going to join in with the Bethesda/Obsidian haters, becuause I've actually had virtually no problems with the game. I've spent a couple of hundred hours on the game, played through a few times, and I counted 3 crashes and no game breaking glitches. The only major annoyance I've had to date was with Dead Money, I got it more or less straight away and I couldn't carry on with the questline because the father Elijah dialogue was stuck at the 'Why have you returned wthout all 3'. This got fixed by a patch within a day or so but it as bloody annoying.

I'm gonna leave the game as it is until I here something more positive about the patch.
