Patch 1.2 is great, thank you Bethesda!

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:40 pm

There are way too many complaints about this patch; personally I think we should praise Bethesda for doing their best. They had a few major bugs that needed fixing and they had to do it fast I don’t mean oh my quest is stuck or some item fell through the ground, I mean bugs that destroyed the game. For the first time I found myself exploring and getting into the game and I must say, it’s a pretty good game you made and thanks for getting the patch out as soon as possible.

The rest of you need to realise that they have to fix the major bugs first that can render the game unplayable and then move on to the next. I am sorry that some quest is not working for you but its 1 out 100 that you can get back to once its patched. The elemental resistance thing svcks but it’s manageable and will most likely be fixed in the next update.

As for the guys in charge of quality control at Bethesda... let’s just say you should reconsider your career choice.

Just because you haven't had issues doesn't mean it was a great patch. Magic resistance IS broken for everyone

I have seen no negative changes so far. Though, I didn't see many bugs before hand, just a couple of quest bugs.

I agree.

The best part is that they release this smaller patch to fix more major issues, and people say, "Y U NO MAKE PATCH BIGGAR?" But had they saved these small fixes, and fixed them in a larger patch later on, many would instead be saying, "Y U NO RELEASE SMALLER PATCHES MORE OFTEN?"

That's what makes this whole thing so hilarious. No matter what Bethesda does, to some they are in the wrong.

Thank you Bethesda. You are doing great.

People having problems with the patch are the cause... not Bethesda. They've modified their .ini files to tweek the game how they want it, or modified the game to get past the memory limits, and these changes are not interacting with the patch flawlessly. It's not "quality control" that can fix that. The only thing they could do is not allow modification, but no one wants that. People who modify their program should know that they're in for conflicts when it comes time to patch.

These threads should be locked before the negative threads imo. At least the latter brings focus to the very real issues of this game, where this serves no purpose at all other than to convey the op's puckered lips to Bethesda's fanny.

Obviously the only solution is to not make patches, shut down the forums, and get rid of every way to contact them for the rest of time.

Do you actually play the game??

How can you say the patch is great

I mean I don't want to hang bethesda out to dry, but reality is just that, reality

1.2 is not a good patch

I have had no other problems except the magic resistance bug, and I did not have any problems until this patch

which is by far worse on game play, than any of the listed bug fixes in 1.2

beth needs to patch there patch asap

OP is right. They had to release the patch quickly without many testers being able to test the patch. Because people would lose any interest in Skyrim, although some people have after the patch, which is sad. I think some people are being a bit drastic and immature about this patch. We know it contains bugs. But we are forgetting that it has fixed things aswell.

Then how come many PS3 and xbox360 users are experiencing these issues as well .... no ini files to tweak, no mods in use.
Think before you speak.

Great game, ugly patch.

I'm sorry but I in no way should be thankful for this rubbish that broke my game more than it fixed it.

It didn't fix ANYTHING, it made the texture issues WORSE, and I'm experiencing lag NOW and I wasn't before.

I should be thankful for that? I want a detailed rundown of why I should be thankful for that.

Honestly, this is as bad as the hate thread. Either extreme is not helpful to making things better.

The patch fixed the beheading animations. They used to just fall straight to the ground, now they pop off.

I want the next patch to put items in categories in chests and make the ebony helmet actually look like it should go with the armor. Get on it Beth.

Didn't fix anything for me, just forced me to screw up what was working fine for me. How do I read about all these bugs ? Not see one with 4 ch. In tons of hours. Then be forced to Patch and now have nothing but bugs that made the 5 quests I tried broke. When everything worked fine before.

So we're the cause of resistances suddenly being broken? For dragons flying backwards?

Once again they had to make it quick to get it to us as soon as possible, they probably had people working 24 hour days to figure it out and fix it. They fixed the literal game breakers but broke *gasp* magic resistance... WOW the game is unplayable...

Why don’t you turn the difficulty down just before each spell hits you and pretend that you still have your resistance...

The approval of the patch took 95% of the time so don't go think OMG THEY HAD THREE WEEKS TO FIX EVERYTHING!!! becouse they did not and they did the best they could with the time they had. I am glad that they did it this way.

wow I keep forgetting that forums are only for people that feel the need to complain about everything! People post positive stuff and all of the people that can't figure a game out or have some bugs jump down their throat, then a person with a negative view comes on and the people enjoying the game came and jump down their throat.

Seriously, forums have become a horrible place and one of the worst places to state an opinion. I know people thrive for attention but I feel that no one cares what I have to say and I can tell you that I could care less what anyone else has to say so how about instead of trying to get logically feedback or any normal human response we save forums for what they are meant for. Trash talking and a secure place to hate everything and everyone we digitally come in contact with, it is a place to vent your hate for the world were racists and bigots can continue to thrive.

This is one of the best games I have played and the reason it is, is because I am not an over entitled brat that needs to bring out the fine toothed comb before I can enjoy something. They think that they gave Bethesda 60 bucks and said " Make this game exactly how I hyped it to be when I first heard about it" I gave you my whopping 60 bucks so I am entitled to perfection..BUT not for the masses you are only to please ME!!

The game has a baffling amount of content and bugs will come up. They only have so many QA testers compared to the millions of people on release day. WA! If they were to delay it to fix them even more WA!

It's a lose lose for most of these gamers today. Stop disappointing yourself with hyping up a good game. Everyone has put more than 60 bucks worth of game time in this I can guarantee... bugs or no bugs.

This. How can you people honestly defend Bethesda for this game destroying patch?

Not to mention what they did fix was useless garbage, while the PC version has been confirmed to have at least 400 bugs, some game ruining ones. Looks like modders will have to fix it, like always.

Bethesda's QA is god awful.

Most of the game is shoddy work but at least with the patch its now playable and dare I say quite enjoyable. Face it Bethesda you knew is gone, this patch did what it said it would do.
