That's strange. I just loaded my game up and wasn't prompted to download a patch. To clarify: are you in the U.S. and using a PS3??

Well, i haven't experienced any freezes - yet.
Also, if you're having problems with freezing, try turning your PS3 internet connection off.
About time us Europeans got something first :vaultboy:

As incredible as it is, after the F3 fiasco, we have to realise that this game...for PS3...is simply not going to work the way it should be...patches or not.

So...play it if you must, stand the numerous unfixable problems...and then do with it whatever you want afterwards...I can only imagine the state of the gameplay once the DLCs will come out, at which point they are probably not even try to pretend they are working of fixes...like the F3 story...not to mention the GOTY edition of New Vegas that will eventually show up its face...that won't work either so don't worry.

Now they are replying every now and then, surprisingly so...but expect total silence from Bethesda/Obsidian in few weeks/months...exactly like F3.

Hoping for a magic patch that fixes the problems? Lets be realistic and move on.

Me? I was waiting for this game so long it's almost funny continuously telling to myself that no...it won't be like F3, it doesn't have sense...I mean...WHO would release a broken game TWICE...nobody right? Wrong...and I am very disappointed that I get to touch/see this game in every shop but I am unable to buy it because of the state it's in at the moment...and I expect the situation to not change either...well done.

I've downloaded the patch yesterday (1.01, Europe). Before the patch I had a crash, where I had to restart my PS3. That was in Goodsprings, when I exited the saloon, and I think I had played for 1-2 hours. Then I downloaded the patch, and I have not crashed since. I have played for about 15 hours now. I've only had very few and minor graphical glitches overall. So maybe the patch works, or maybe I've just been lucky. My only gripe with this game is the lack of anti-aliasing. That really drags the image quality down, it's really bad. I wish anti-aliasing could be implemented through an update. But I don't know if that's even possible. I'm not a tech nerd.

I'm watching this thread, please keep the reports coming. If people in general agree that the freezing and glitching is solved I'll buy the game on Monday. I hope to do so!

Only encountered one glitch so far, other than the typical "stuff endlessly falling in the same spot" glitch which I always found hilarious anyway. In *kinda spoiler coming up* The Fort's gate to Caesar's tent area there are guards that automatically kill my companion but I can't find them or see them on either side of the gate. Annoying to say the least. Only had it freeze on me once

And you're talking after getting the patch, and you did have serious problem with freezing and glitching before that? Otherwise what you're saying has no relevance when it comes to evaluating the patch.

Oh so that's why. Yeah. Everybody was talking about a patch and I was so excited and was wondering why my PS3 wasn't recognizing anything like that.

I think the same thing happened to me, now that I think about it that was the last time I remember seeing mine. That was a couple in game weeks ago. Now he's nowhere to be found and I can't get another companion because he's still attached to me.

Pardon me for asking bluntly but did they even release notes on what they fixed?

Does the patch automagically download on a PS3? How will I know that I got it. Is there a way to check the version number for PS3?

That's Nothing I killed one of those Ginormous Super Mutants with a Well Places Set of Mines, No Explosive Skill and extremely low level. It Glitched and sent the Giant Super Mutant a Mile up in the Air and he Crashed to the Ground with no Stimpacks or HP Left 1 bar on my HP meter it was a Fallout Epic Moment in gaming History. Which left me with another Epic Battle off the Mysterious Quest Note which Intrigued me. The Red Passenger Train Key to a Mysterious Treasure. So I ended up walking right into the Raider's Main Base used my Smarts took them all out with my Sniper Rifle which I found on the Bridge a Raider Had it. I loobed a Couple Epic WIN Frags without Vats and kills the Raiders above the Canyon on the Broken Bridges above the Raider Camp. then I released the Super Mutant which killed most of them. Don't forget the Raider House in the Distance had a Flame Thrower in there and i think a Rocket Launcher. Then Somehow I got his Health really low but things looked grim again HP in the RED one hit and I was Dead I noticed his AI he would run back to the Prison where I opened the door and released him. So Without everything on the line and no Savegame data current I risked it all and shut the Massive Beast back in the Jail Cell and Killed him with my Weakest Pistol. EPIC WIN the Base had a Bobblehead Doll for Barter+10 I think. Or something like that. And I Killed and Looted it all. This was in Fallout 3. What a Pro Raid that was. XD

I'm considering Changing my FKin IP just to get the Europian Update. My Game Freezes up and Crashes too and Lags up every 10-15 secs of running in the wastelands. Anyone else having these problems. I'm running it at full HD tried every Setting Combination still the same Results. Usually likes to Crash when I haven't saved in a While and Just Completed a Epic or Very Hard Quest. I'm playing on hardcoe Mode on Hard.

The update is designed for Pal consoles if you try to update your NTSC game you'll just have more problems.

2.5 hrs into game play... 4 crashes requiring hard restart. I Haven't even been able to finnish the FIRST F'ING main quest to the game. Every time I restart, it crashes sooner than the time before. $80 = purchase fee.... $7 = S&H... The glitchiest game ever released = worthless.

Please, come take my poll and comment on "Bethesta Doesn't Care" thread and be heard. It's the same engine as Fo3 and it should have been fixed years ago.

The 1.01 patch still has lockups, but I think the game is playable. I have not come across any gamebreaking bugs yet, and I am about 25+ hours in the game. But it's still not acceptable in terms of stability for a game that is not supposed to be in beta.
