Patch Info

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone can help me out?
I know there have been 2 patches released for New Vegas.
When I started my game it automatically start downloading them.
Do all of the patches automatically download when you start Steam and the game or do you have to go and download them and install manually?
I want to start playing the game but I want to make sure I'm at the lastest patched version first.

Thanks.

Unless you choose to not download them automatically (right click on the game in the library -> properties), Steam will do just that. So yes, any time it downloads something for your game, one of your files was not at the most recent version. Or just corrupted.

the patch should automaticly download when you start FONV since its on steam. Odds are good you didn't notice the patches being applied since it just like the normal Fallout loading screen. The only way I can think of that you didn't get the patches is if you're playing in offline mode. Just play in online mode once and you'll get the patches.

Edit; RedViv beat me too it

The default setting is for Steam to automatically download and install patches as they become available. You can set it not to update your game if you don't want patches for any reason.

You shouldn't need to do anything for the patching process to complete--just play the game when it says it's ready.

The current game version is 1.1.1.271. You can check your version by going into the Display page of the in-game Settings menu. The version number shows on the bottom left corner of the screen.
