Is anyone else taking the developers advice and restarting from the beginning after the patch? It was mentioned that a new game might be necessary for all patch changes to take effect.
I've already restarted twice due to bug and have lost another 30 hours or so having to load old save games due to bugs and the current save I have is at 60+ hours. (And before you ask, yes I do not work. I have a disease that causes me to be homebound/disabled. Reguardless,) I'd rather not start over. I have to say I am suprised at Bethsda on this one. I will continue to think of them as one of the better companies producing games out there because I have always enjoyed their products. I know from playing a few seriously buggy MMOs like LOTRO that bugs happen and people who have no clue about the production end are breathing down their necks telling them to release in time to compete with Black Ops, Fable III , Force Unleashed 2 and Assassins Creed. I feel for them, really I do. However, telling someone in a game that is designed for the played to have sever days (and I mean hour wise) worth of time invested in to the game about 2 months after the release to RESTART to make their patch work is a bit of a slap in the face.
I know this happens more and more often because of the amount of money put in to these games and a need to release them prior to Xmas for them to receive good returns on their investments. I know this patch was probably the quickest fix they could produce for the number of bugs discovered. However, I don't think anyone expected a Bethesda game to be in this bad a shape. It is definately a big hit to their rep. And telling people to start over 'cus it might be the only way for the patch to work is an even bigger hit to their rep. I know I'll think twice beforebuying their games right after release from now on. And about buying the DLC right away for fear of more bugs.
Anyway that is my 2 cents worth.
