Patch 1.3........Needs to fix the "difficulty" setti

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 6:34 pm

Just what the title says folks:

The difficulty slider is NOTHING like MW or Oblivion as difficulty levels in Skyrim are ALL easy.

The companion system is nerfed and companion orders are on a cave man level: Hold this, move here/wait here, and meaningless questions i.e. What is a thane?....WHAT???

Come on Bethesda! I know you can make a smarter companion and better difficulty settings & slider!

Out......

Yeah, you obviously know what needs to be fixed in 1.3. Forget the game running for everyone, and being able to fight dragons. Difficulty slider and companion system is where it's at! Also shows an obvious lack of what kind of timetable it would take to resolve those things.

Agreed. I just want a game that doesn't crash every 5 minutes. Is it too much to ask to have a game I can actually play?

Game runs fine for me......

Sorry, not everyone is in torments with Skyrim like you guys but the difficulty & companion systems are terrible!

My Specs:

Win 7 Ultimate
8GB RAM DDR2
Nvidia 260 GTX overclocked (out of box overclocked)
Sweet Realtek HD audio codecs for my Sweet Benwin speakers
Logitech keyboard & mouse

I did have a "bow & arrow bug" where I would draw the arrow all the way back but the arrow would deflect mid-air!
This only happened around a mountainous slope BTW

It has not happened again....weird

Peace.........

No, I'm not.

I play on Master, I do use a companion and I don't abuse enchanting & smithing....I haven't enchanted NOR smithed even a hide helmet yet at all.

The difficulty even with a companion, which anyone can use to attack enemies for you while you hind behind it, is easy.

Skryim is a 3/4 baked game, plain & simple. Multiple patches are needy to fix this game.

Peace

None of this will be in 1.3, nor any patch in Skyrim's future, ever. Good day, sir.

But really, none of what you stated is affecting more than a handful of people, because its not an issue in any way whatsoever. I said Good day.

Here is what I did ... first character I played I took a companion with me. At lvl 10 I met frost troll on master. My tank specced warrior got two shotted, my companion was able to tank the troll just fine while I was bashing it from behind. I stopped using companions after that. They are bloody mutants and they do make the game considerably easier.

So if you want bigger challenge, drop the companion and play dead is dead. That's what I do and I have no issue with the game being difficult as it is on master.

Let me offer a disclaimer that the following is not hate at Bethesda. Really part of loving somethig (or someone) is accepting them for what they are and recognizing their faults as "part of the package"

In response to your comment that I bolded, I have seen NO EVIDENCE that Bethesda is capable (or interested in) creating companions that are anything more than cattle with one dimensional personalities. The only decent characters or companions I can remember, was Falloutout New Vegas........which was written by Obsidian.

If I want to fall in love with characters and be fascinated by my companions, I play Bioware. When I want an open incredible gameworld and all the cool things that come with it, I go TES.

Truth be told haven't been impressed with dialogue or voice acting in any Bethesda game I've played except, once again FONV which again was Obsidian's writing. (The voice acting and dialogue in Oblivion made me laugh out loud).

So with Skyrim I didn't get my hopes up too high when I heard about things like companions and getting married and such.

Bethesda is what they are. And what they do well is pretty terrific.

I agree with OP.

Play Fallout 3 on hard then play Skyrim on expert. then tell me skyrim has challenge. It was without question made with 5 year olds in mind.

Im refusing to use enchanted gear or wear any armour to increase challenge. I'm trying hard to not be a 1-shot machine.

I think fixing 1.2 is somewhat more important. Just a thought.

Game ran fine for me before 1.2. I've no idea if I got hit by any of the other new bugs, because the "My mouse no longer moves in the Y axis" one meant I couldn't play the game to find out.

Meanwhile, the difficulty's been fine for me - plenty of challenging fights for me on Adept. Can't comment on companions, I avoid using the pesky things. I hate escort quests, why would I volunteer for one?

Funny, I remember legions of bitter complaints about how trivial Fallout 3 was on max difficulty - the usual crowd of "I'm so tough" h4rdc0r3 g4m3rz going on and on about how they could clear Old Olney at level 2 with the 10mm pistol they got in vault 101.

Meanwhile, I was happy with in on Normal.

Fallout 3 is easy on ANY setting with all the DLC. Too many over powered perks, overpowered VATS that you can't take damage while using, nerfed death claws, ridiculous fat boy, that silly chinese stealth suite, lincoln's repeater, that special plasma rifle, plenty of recources everywhere to be carrying 20 bottlecap mines and 20 nuka cola grenades at any given time etc etc,

That is the easiest RPG I've ever played.

Hey man,

You KNOW the companions are NERF-ED out! So does everyone else playing Skyrim.

The difficulty of Skryim is completely wacked out...HARD.....it's too easy = boring game with beautiful landscape
