Patch 1.9 (2.09) performancebugs so far.

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 11:26 pm

so I checked it out and didn't notice a thing, all the glitches I had previously are still there: quests completed but wont remove from listing, items in inventory that were quest related are completed but still cannot be removed, and still cannot use display cases!!! Blinking eyes? Never noticed, lip syncing - again not an issue, and as far as the legendary stuff goes - have to get there first!! So for me the patch was a prettied-up but useless promo.

No I expect it to play like a game that was in development for 3.5 years with a developing and marketing budget of $85 million.

How far are you in, maybe you could make a new character and begin from scratch with the 1.09 patch...!!!

Many people don't realize that many of these fixes don't take effect on a old save game, and that in order to for those fixes to take effect that they need to start a new game. Being a long tome TES player I found out the hard way.

That was my understanding as well. A patch won't fix an already existing glitched save, it can only prevent it from happening if you haven't experienced it yet, in most cases at least.

I did some testing of the new patch and it svcks. Yes somethings did get fixed. Like my wife when I approach her now doesn't do a little dance. The one journal they mention in the patch can be removed. But other things weren't fixed. Ash pile from NPC are still there in Whiterun. Dead bodies from cultist and other NPC that were killed are still laying around. Completed quest won't clear out of quest log. Books gotten before a quest started are not recongized like white & black souls. They also tampered with the smithing which wasn't mentioned. I was wearing items to boost my smithing 94% then drank a potion to increase it another 103% for 30 sec the highest it would go for a dragonbone sword was 58 damage. So it appears they put a leveling cap on smithing. well I guess if you take one leveling cap away you have to put it somewhere. Other weapons I had smithed higher were lower. I haven't checked out my other character yet, but i guess I'll have to see were those weapons are cause they were close to 100. The other problem I encountered is with the new patch my warrior which was taking about 10mins to load before now takes almost 12mins to load. The new patch also doesn't calculate correctly for the merchants. Plus they screwed us over cause the riverwood trader was the only one who had at least 11000 septims so you could trade your special armor or weapons with. Now he only has 2250. So now no one in all of Skyrim has little more then 2000. Which isn't calculated correct, cause some of them had over a 1000 after you helped them out or they got things up and running then you invested in them and they were at or over 2000 so when you got they merchant perk which was to give every merchant 1000 more that should of put the ones that were only 750 to at least 1750. the others should have been better then 2000. I even uninstalled the game and the updates and reinstalled everything and none of the above glitches changed. Alot of us have too many hours in some of characters to want to restart them all over.

"Dead bodies from cultist and other NPC that were killed are still laying around." [CONFIRMED]

I have the same problem with a sabre cat in Whiterun, he is laying around dead for 40 hours of gameplay, and it's stays there after 1.09 patch.

I have over 350 hrs into the game!!! I have restarted this game since I got it over 7 times because of glitches from back in October (I think thats when I got it) but finally got it going - mostly because of lagging, freezing and glitching - even now if I play more than 2 hrs it becomes unbarable because of lagging. I finally got draaedic armour, I guess I could give it a try.....by the way, can anybody put stuff into the display cases in the houses they have built?

yeah, drop an item on the ground, leave the house, reenter, manually drag the item to the display case, save once the item is dropped

Cells are how the game is mapped out in reality, it's not the continuous map you experience as you move around. The world is divided into "Cells" and these load in and out of main memory as you play and the state of each is saved when you leave.

Not returning to a cell for a time allows the cleanup routines to remove clutter from the cell, one of the general improvements blah blah you see on the rubber stamp patch notes.

Is it actually worth upgrading to 1.09? I keep hearing there are crash and lag problems with it.

If you want the Legendary difficulty setting, and the Legendary Skills YES.

I had some lag with the 1.09 patch after 6 hours playing (3 + 3), but i did some new save slots and reduced my saves from 6 to 3, and i was good to go.

I am playing right now, exploring barefoot but all looks good. (hopefully it stays so...lol)

Should I just install it over the previous install so I don't have to re-install the DLC then?

Do it so, and if you see some strange behavior (hopefully not !!!) you know what to do...

Wish you luck. !!!

I was able to drop the journal after the patch, which is good. I had a problem trying to complete a numbers job at Haelga's Bunkhouse. Apparently you can't forge the business ledger unless the quest arrow is pointing at it. The arrow actually moves to the second floor and points at a random box. I was unable to complete that job, but at least we can quit those jobs. I managed to successfully complete that same job before patch 1.9, but I was unable to do it after patch 1.9.

1.09 works fine for me but I am extremely p*ssed off that they patched the Oghma Infinium glitch. I had never used it before, but because I am a legit 81 with 100 in every skill, I wanted to turn them Legendary and do the glitch to exchange some perks that I haven't found very useful for ones that look useful... I'll just have to do it all over AGAIN legitimately... Hours of grinding that could have potentially been avoided with the Oghma Infinium glitch.

Beth, add it back in 1.10! It's not spoiling it for others! I remember before Skyrim came out you wrote/said that you weren't going to patch the "fun and helpful glitches".

To put it simply, don't bother doing many quests on an oghma infinium save, some might not be able to be done, and in all honesty,
that defeats the entire point of playing skyrim.
The Infinium glitch may be useful if you just want to run around and kill things,
but it ruins the fun of leveling a character which is to me the core experience of a game like this.
Just my opinion.

I agree, it does make it more fun but I already have put around 1000 hours into this game and I have nothing much else to do in the game, except for re-grinding my skills again now. I just wanted to have some fun with new perks and stuff.

I only play this game now to hunt animals and people lol.
