I can not believe that rebuilding the file system
worked, but it did. I am surprised.

I was experiencing some slight framerate issues whenever I got close to bodies of water or misty areas. I know that is part of the game, but it was increasingly getting worse over time.

Restoring the file system actually lowered or completely removed that issue for me. I can not say if that will work for others because this game clearly spawns issues by the amount of stuff you did.

if you delete some old game data, and then choose the option 3 (restoring the file system) and 4 (i cant remember) your skyrim works really good, for example, i delete all the game data of games that i had finilled (uncharted 2, god of war 3, god of war ascencion beta), after this i restore the file sistem and looks like i was playing to different games.

Tired my warrior character this weekend some, the wife is still glitched. She walks backwards and does a little dance when i stand near her to have a conversation.

It's not a defrag eventually, and no it will not erase anything from your HDD.
  • Restore File System (option 3)
This will rewrite the files the PS3 uses to boot. This feature will help if files have become corrupted and are not allowing the console to boot as normal. This should not erase any of your saved data or settings.
  • Rebuild Database (option 4)
This can be a usefull feature if you have lost files on your system for no apparent reason. Try using this feature to see if it can restore those files. This will also rewrite corrupted files within the database, potentially eliminating future issues. This feature should not erase any of your saved data or settings.
GOOD LUCK. !!!

LoL...so after patch I no longer have guards outside the whiterun gate. It's perma-locked so no main quest.

So has anyone found a fix or a workaround for the non-blinking eyes? The way that my ladies just STARE all the time is downright disturbing.

Do you mean your character not blinking or other NPCs not blinking?

My characters, good buddy.

It's as if the issue\bug was reversed: All the ladies in Lakeview now sleep with their eyes closed (Lydia, Rayya & Jordis - my wife).

But SunFire & Nixia Nyles? They just stare... STARE.

Just wanted to make sure what the exact nature of the bug was.

It looks to me like the code for the blinking animation on your character is just completely borked. When creating a new character you should notice that every time you change the character model it will blink once and then just stare for eternity. Code is borked, either only running once or not tracking the time passed between frames correctly.

Best they leave it alone before they make every single NPC stop blinking, which would be actually disruptive.

played a little bit last night on patch 1.9 on a character created specifically with the patch in mind, its a lvl 25 character on a 7mb save somewhere around 40hours played.

lag - for this save it seems that the lag is pretty much gone, i notice that there is a small hitch in framerate whenever i exit a building, as if the game is loading more than usual, but after that the game plays almost flawlessly, especially inside cities and dungeons. outdoors ill still experience slight stutters but they are barely noticeable even when running

blinking - i dont know how you all are just noticing this now, but my character stopped blinking before patch 1.8 /shrug

freezes - i have had 2 freezes since patch 1.9, these frighten me simply because i very very rarely experienced freezes before this, the first freeze was inside the blue palace dungeons, the second was outdoors near riverwood, both were just straight up freezes that happened while i was running, not during a load screen

thats pretty much all ive noticed so far and overall im happy with the patch, hopefully the freezes i encountered are just unrelated isolated incidents and not something to do with the new patch

Deleted all game data, fresh install for the patch. Started a new character. Bad moments of lag on the journey along the river from Helgen to Riverwood. Same old frame rate problems elsewhere. 120gb slim.

Yep, there were a few moments of slowdown as I followed Ralof along the river, below 10fps. Same slowdown escaping from Helgen at the part where you pull the lever. Always got slowdown there. Skyrim has never been a smooth experience for me on either of my PS3s.

interesting.. in what order percicely did you delete and reinstall your stuff (might be a good idea to redownload any dlcs you had in the exact same order you first installed them!), and when you redownloaded the dlc's did you by any chance use the "download in background" option?

also, are all your autosaves turned off?

I feel for you, bro. My Skyrim experience has pretty much always been good. Sure, I've frozen, lagged & gotten the infinite loading screen. But I've never had any horror stories, that's for sure.

All 3 DLCs
250GB Slim
Over 105 gigs of free space
My biggest save file was 14MB

Any fix for the unfinished quests yet? my quest keep pilling up.. 1st it was the boethiah cultist and the barenziah stone and the book for the dawnstar blacksmith.. I've finished the quests but they are still in my log.. And now i encountered a new one when Arngeir show you where the shouts are. I already got the shout from Arcwind Point and the arrow still points there.. now Arngeir isn't giving me anymore shout locations.

for the boethia cult if you can restart a savegame before begin it, there should be a way to end it without problems, 'cause i dit it well. For Arngeir, sorry, there is no way. If you killed the dragon no way to fix it.
