Post » Fri Feb 12, 2016 1:42 pm

it will auto download, but i set mine to choose when to install it. You don't have to install but the internet will auto download.

dogmeat glitch still works after patch. The timing window is smaller and delayed but still doable.

You can probably revert it to version 1.00 but not version 1.02...

Also,

I say CHEAT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE IN SINGLE PLAY GAME

as long as it boosts your fun and not ruining it.

Not just the special book, he could duplicate shipments, most materials, ammo, some armor / weapons.. pretty much anything he can be ordered to pick up you could double the number of.

I only tried his glitch to clone my Vault 111 suit.

He could not... so I failed to make Vault 111 Sanctuary...

Are items we place actually supposed to stay on shelves now? I don't remember reading anything like that in the patch notes (unless that falls under "general stability" fixes). I don't see how giving us the ability to rotate items means they'll no longer clip through shelves and/or disappear.

Even copyright infringement should be allowed since it is not affecting anyone else's game, but yours. If I want to play as Darth Vader and their is a mod available, then I should be able to. The only thing that should not be allowed is cheating in multiplayer and those people should get punished by whatever method the devs deem appropriate.

Easy fix until they patch the problem: go to the XMB, select Settings -> Network -> uncheck Connect to the internet. If you want to re-connect to the internet, just repeat the steps and check the box when you're done playing Fallout 4. (Note: These instructions are for PS4, but I'm sure it's very similar to disconnect internet on XBox.)

Companies don't always announce fixes to exploits. In general, fixes to exploits receive a neutral or negative response, so they often prefer to let the information disseminate with the release of the patch, so that the negative response is mitigated somewhat by the positive responses to the simultaneous bug fixes.

I'm not the kind of player who's going to use something like this very often. In Skyrim, for example, I used the Oghma exploit exactly once, specifically to make up for a perk I wasted on lockpicking when I first made the character. After that, I refused to use it again (later they added the ability to replace perks when they fixed the exploit, so I was fine with it.)

I wouldn`t call Dogmeat item copying a Feature of game...

It`s unintended glitch and fixed intentionally to make it right.

I am all in for exploiting cheat and leaving non-game breaking glitches to exploit in single player video game..

but I would never blame Bethesda for fixing Dogmeat glitch.

They did the right thing. ...for once.

I am actually surprised they didn`t address Lone Wanderer glitch.. and it still works with Dogmeat.

So long as they don't "fix" the rug glitch that helps you clip items into terrains and objects, I'm cool.

In fact, there needs to be more clipping options for settlement building.

Sorry but that was a cool way for some of us to get alot of certain ammo in a much large amount. For example I've only used dogmeat for this to increase the amount of nukes I have because I have yet to find a way to buy them. It's baffling how the game doesn't give us a way to buy all ammo types including mini-nukes, at least with the dogmeat thing I can get more of it.

Maybe they intended Dogmeat to work with the Lone Wanderer Perk.

It's more likely glitches like this are "fixed" as the result of fixing an underlying cause that created other problems within the game. If you want it, don't update to the new patch. But don't complain when other bugs cause issues for you.

I believe we can safely assume that after this patch.

The loading screen guide says Lone Wanderer perk is to work when traveling without companion or dog... but now we will treat this guide as small mistake.

Disconnect your console and reinstall. The game data and the save data are separate so it shouldn't be a problem unless you plan on exploiting those glitches extensively or if you want to boost the SPECIAL of all your new characters.

disagree

its a single player game so no real point fixing exploits that dont break quests etc and have to actually be done intentionally

also whats the point of fixing an exploit when you have a console in game that PC players can just spawn whatever they want whenever they want however many times they want.

seems stupid and waste of time where they could be fixing something important instead such as level 4 vendors to name one of a million things that need to be fixed rather than taking the caps and dogmeat exploit out of game

i mean if a PC player can just add say 10000 caps whenver they want whats the point of fixing a capo exploit that requires much more time than just typing "player.add caps 10000" or what ever it is

the dogmeat exploit was painfully annoying to do over and over again, for example to say get perfect stats you would have to do the glitch 42 times getting the timing right then dropping the book read the book pick it up drop it again send dogmeat a little way a way the ncall him to pick it up and get timing right or start again 42 times, yet a PC player can perfect their stats in 10 seconds flat if wanted

i never used either, but i was planning on using both in subsequent playthroughs after id already done everything and was just going to muck around with new character. Im on xbox so i cant just console clothing i wantfor looks for example or caps, so why let PC players "cheat maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasively" if they want to but when i tiny little exploit (compared to console commands!!!) is found that lets console players do a little something to waste time and resources making sure they cant? especially considering what does need fixing in this game?

There's no proof of this even being the case involving this thing with dogmeat. The only thing I complain about stuff not working is about some of the legendary merchants not even appearing in the game.

Just because they didn't address it in 1.3 doesn't mean it won't ever be addressed

How am I wrong? Movies are a different medium than games, they have different things and features to keep gamers interesting. They're not comparable. That's like comparing a TV show with a game

Question has to be asked...

Why did Beth prioritise fixing a silly little exploit that affected nobody but the guy/girl playing a single player game while leaving progress halting bugs untouched ?

And to the "you shouldn't cheat" jibber jabberers crawling out of their morally high woodwork, try considering those less fortunate than yourselves for once.

I did the dupe glitch with the My Special Book for my housemate to give him a better chance of survival in the game as he has severe arthritis in both hands and just can't hit the buttons and triggers fast enough.

Having high stats boosted his health and meant more hits and better accuracy in VATS which he badly needs to survive multiple enemy encounters.

Rolling a new character to experience a different playthrough is now not an option for him.

Still, he's got a birthday coming up so I think I'm going to build him a gaming rig so he can use the dev console to do what has "wrongfully" (in my opinion) been taken away from console users.

how do I set it to : 'when to install it' then ?

afaik, the 1.03 started automatic download (PS4 gave me the option to go ahead with what I had- while the download was going on parallel ). I think I reached out for my cofee and bang it was all over within a jiffy and I am on 1.03.

many will say moral of the story is : dont go for the coffee ;)

but seriously, How do I set the PS4 to :'when to install it' ?

* and any thoughts for the XB1, can I also influence the patch download & automatic installation there?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

and about the 'cheat' part :

I am convinced its my money , I am playing alone and I wish to do so. to what level I will be doing is also determined by me. if upgrading a weapon is fast pressing some exotic button combinations, let it be there for people who want it. For folks who do not want it, they can go ahead and not use those button combinations at all. Its like.... I see a 100 dollar bill floating on the street, 'moral, just and scrupulous' people have the option to ignore it , or take the bill to the police station and file a report , others have the option to pocket it and move along. as long as that 'furious button bashing' combination was not breaking up the game or a complete showstopper for the other folks, I dont see a point in people moral policing here on how I/we look at the floating bill.
