i was on holiday for weeks and when i came back i see this patch 1.4, thought, wow a new patch, hope it fixes even more stuff, but after patching the nightmare came back once again...

with the previous patch, Catalyst 11.4 preview + 11.3 app profiles (CAP3) + Crysis2AdvancedGraphicsOptions the game was great (apart from small issues) and i had NO FLICKERING.

I installed the patch(1.4) and the live Catalyst 11.4 and 11.4 CAP1, resumed single player and i was shocked:

-insane flickering again and crazy brightness changes every time i move the camera.
-Black shadow -bubbles moving on the screen when moving
-never had troubles with multiplayer, but now that has flickering aswell

I tried so many things before actually posting here:
-diabled advanced settings program - didnt fix
-gone back to 11.4 preview + 11.3 CAP3 - didnt fix
-played around with the drivers (ofc i completely cleaned off everything before installing the next one)
-tried brightness changes, resolution and graphics changes, both ingame and in CCC - didnt fix

I dont have any more ideas what to do, honestly i didnt think that after i come back from vacation ill see the issues getting bigger in my case with the 5970, not in my wildest dreams i thought this could happen, but...

Does any1 have any suggestions about anything how to solve this?
CCC settings?
Drivers?
App. profiles?
Should i still try to use Crysis2AdvancedGraphicsOptions program?

My system specs:
OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
intel core i7 920 @ 3.8GHz with Corsair H70 cooler
Sapphire ATi Radeoin HD 5970 oc. (735/1010)
(Samsung SSD boot drive
Corsair TX850W PSU
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard
Samsung 1600Mhz DDR3 6GB RAM
ASUS VE247H LED monitor)

If some1 has a similar setup and the game works fine for him without flickering, please post ur settings.

i had the same problem as you with the 5970 and i think the fault is advanced settings program's

I have 11.4 installed+profiles 11.3 cap5 (latest) [btw just noticed 11.4 cap1 is out, gonna install it later]

MP was fine, while single player svcked so bad (flicker+those insane shadows), then I decided to remove autoexec.cfg, start the game, go to settings and set extreme -> apply (so that you're totally sure it will apply default settings). SP is now much smoother than it used to be (60fps with VSync on almost all the time) and no flicker.

that actually doesnt help with the Crysis2AdvancedGraphicsOptions enables, but with disabling it, and going for normal settings seems to work, but only like this:

every time the flickering comes up i go to brightness and change it one higher one lower, but only one! then the flickering is off until it comes back again with alt -tab -ing or reloading.

Still not perfect, its a little annoying to change birghtness everytime a bit, but yea, at least i can play it.

hmmm let me guess every1 who has flickering used custom CFG to set graphics on their own??? Seriously if u want to play at maximum set to extreme and leave it crysis 2 left prematurely and lots of graphic anomalies have to be fixed(with DX11 patch i guess) thats why they didnt push it to the max

cool, and what setting do you have there mate?

are you using the app profiles like 11.4 CAP1 or are you making one your own, if so please list the settings so i can set it up too (im not sure which settings to use actually)
