Patch 1.3 - Stat Changes - The (Ongoing) List

Post » Wed May 19, 2010 9:14 pm

What? It's still dead nuts accurate at range and it's a lever action. There's no reason why it should fire just as fast as a semi-.

I had my AP set up perfectly to where I could fire 6 shots. Now, not even Grim Reaper's Sprint will be useful with this weapon. I also have Fast Shot so my range will be decreased even more.

Dude, that's 10% of .06 less accurate.... if you do the math it's still dead nuts. Maybe not "shoot the ball hair off a fly at 300 paces" but still gorram accurate.

In my opinion, any weapon that has a spread under 0.1 can be considered a good sniping weapon. Of course, the lower, the better, but you should be able to aim just fine, even after they raised it up just a tick. After all, in the end, auto aim is gonna aim ya at a certain distance from your target anyways.

Was there ever an official explanation given for why 5mm rounds now have an inherent DT modifier?

Primarily for balance purposes. Now the Minigun and Avenger aren't total crud and the Assault Carbine can be useful outside of non-DT enemies.

To make you, the player, afraid of miniguns and assault carbines.

Somewhere around here, I believe, Josh said the intent was to make the assault carbine and minigun more appealing to use against high DT targets, giving them a proper niche to fil. I can't seem to find the post. Maybe it wasn't here. The rational behind that would probably be the fact that 5mm uses more powder and more lead than the 5.56mm, therefore being a higher energy round and having greater penetration, ergo more DT bypass. Or that's my take. If I find some exact quote, I'll link to it for you.

Anyone notice the Pulse gun being nerfed? Doesn't do one hit kills on robots and BoS guys anymore. Three to four shots to take down anything mechanical now; even using max charged ammo. What gives?

Max Charge only multiplies weapon base damage, not damage from extra effects like Tesla Cannon damage over time, or Pulse Gun bonus damage vs mechanical foes.

O_O

Oh...
My...
God...
Thank you! :D

Sure I dislike that the game is not very balanced but I do like when a perk works the right way. (Being a high lvl perk it should not heal 1hp every 10 seconds...)

The best part of this post: It comes out of left field.

I would of liked the Monocyte Breeder be nearly the same rate, or even instead of regenerating health, regenerate limbs, at a good rate. Give some definition between the two ya know.

Hey, Josh, I had an idea clankin' around in my head yesterday. I'm sure you remember the "Meet the Devs" threads before release, where we could post questions and a lot of you all would respond? I was wondering if we could start a "Ask Josh" thread, since you can actually answer those game related questions now, unlike in the earlier threads. I was gonna PM a mod to see if this would be something you guys could/would support, sort of an official thread. Is that something you might be interested in?

I dont know about anyone else but the newest patch is causing a lot more lock ups and freezes in my game.I'm on the xbox and while the patch has stopped location based freezes for the most part,I now get frequent lockups when interacting with containers and in the merchant trading screen. This was not happening prior to the the very latest(revised) patch.

because it's a ridiculously huge list of detailed items that most people don't care about a blanket statement about fixing bugs and stability usually is sufficent details about specific bugs and stability issues will probably be released later at least they have been for the other patches look at how long the patch details on the wiki are theres simply to many to list here.

With all the bugs and glitches people are complaining of i would like to know what the patch fixed... apperently it didn't do alot of fixing because they are making a patch to fix that patch. That is good enough for me to know i'm not going update my game.

I would love something like this, especially because Josh is very active on the forums.

yeah, that would be cool. However, we got to make sure we don't scare him, overwhelm him, or boo him off the stage. Hard work it seems.

Hold on a second there... haven't we actually done all that, in the umbrella sense of we = the entire forum in general, because of patch issues, DLC waiting, how Dead Money svcks this, d3d9.dll fail that, etc.. etc..?

I didn't want The Strip to feel like another New Reno. Whether you liked New Reno or hated it, they definitely had the Tommy Gun gangster thing going on. I also felt like I already had a good semi-auto and SMG progression in the core game: 9mm to 10mm to 12.7mm. I couldn't figure out a good way to slot .45 ACP weapons like the M1911 and Thompson into that progression. *~ Realistically ~* a weapon like the M1911 would probably be between the 9mm and 10mm but that felt awkward/not right.

Hey Josh, I've been wondering, do you think perhaps in the new DLC or patch something, Mini-Nukes should be sold strictly by the Nellis Boomers, reliably? As in, within almost every refresh have a decent amount? I think that would be cool. Perhaps, since there is now a convenient supply, make these a variant to the Mini nuke called "NAFB" Mini Nukes, which could be slightly more expensive? The ONLY way to get Mini Nukes, besides the scarce amount laying around, is by sneak killing a respawning Boomer. Using the game engine to my own ends to get ammunition is kind of embarrassing. (on my end)

They fix the Grimy Pre-War Buisness Suit in this Patch? I'd check but my 360 has officially stopped reading my disks and I have to send it in for repair. :banghead:

The Tesla cannon is stronger than Beaton (per battery) , even with the DoT... Any reason? (And yes I know it's only a half point of dameage but still)

I noticed they seem to have added an achievement for finding the Vaults in the area.
