Patch Update?????

Post » Tue Oct 13, 2009 1:22 am

Patience people there are procedures they need to follow, not sure that this is an issue they could put into a hotfix, they would need a full update and that has to be approved by microsoft first. As simple as this sounds this would take the devs time to code, check and test before submitting to microsoft and then MS would take a couple weeks to approve it.

I am sure they are aware of the issue and are working on it.
Whoa. Weird. Your username is Phipps? I just talked to a patient literally 30 seconds ago that has the same last name.

Unless directly specified by a Dev Team member or CM, you're making assumptions.
Besides other top tier developers don't release unfinished unpolished games. You'll never see Bungie, Guerilla, or Valve release anything in the state this game is in.

A CM's primary job is to keep the community informed of the dev teams processes and where they are at within that process.

Constant, direct communication with the community and heavy post launch support is key to the longevity of a videogame today. If the community doesn't know what's going on they'll assume they've been abandoned and trade the game in towards the next "big" thing

Then tell the community specifically what's going on and that will put the assumptions to rest. ;)

I think its particularly tacky that the devs havent come and said something about the issue. Quietly sweep it under the floor.
I for one, am returning the game as soon as I finish the single player campaign.
Same here bro, i'm probably going to use the money to get rainbow six vegas 2, an actually good game.

Ironic that someone mentions a game that had a similar problem until a few weeks after it was released.

R6V2 had issues for the first few weeks it was out, a good majority was connectivity and p2p problems......and it was fixed and saved that games online mode.

All I can say to fix the multiplayer issues is a Locale matchmaking system, sure you can invite your friends from beyond that but be warned that their connections might be mediocre.

Second, patch capture the relay.....for reasons obvious.

Crysis is in a market where it has to compete with games that do work and those that are more popular.

Capture the relay makes no sense as is.

Lots of games come out with issues, as games become more and more complicated there are going to be problems on release. Some things are just too hard to properly test for until post release.

I make assumptions based on my experiences with other games and their updates. You cant just snap your fingers and get want you want immediately, doesnt work that way. People are making some pretty ridiculous and outlandish arguements in this thread.

We really need a dev or CM to actually post a few times a day, what else are they doing?

Ummm the xbox had 2 demos pre release. The retail builds performance is unacceptable. It should've been delayed a month IMO. Another month of bug crushing and optimizations would've probably done wonders.

Wait a month or pay $60 for this experience, I'd rather have waited a month.

At any rate when I give you money for something it had better work well. If any of you have read the sticky this game clearly doesn't run well.

For my first experience with Crytek, if this is their idea if initial release quality, it doesn't bode well for them.

I agree entirely. I cannot understand these companies that hire people solely for the job of community rep/manager only to have them do precisely nothing. Treyarch were as bad with BO. I don't see how they can think it worse to do nothing than to provide a daily update as to what's happening, certainly within the first few weeks of the game's life having been released. No news is not good news when it comes to gaming.

Are community relations on a message board that unreasonable? NO one is suggesting the devs spend all their time pandering to the whims of every high volume forum poster. Just a regular, daily, update as to what is happening. We can only assume from the lack of such that they are doing nothing in respect of the 360.
