Patch Update?????

Post » Tue Oct 13, 2009 1:22 am

I was wondering if we are ever going to get get a patch to fix this game. I've been playing since day one and I played the demo and the same problems still are in the online. I see great potential in this game but I'm starting to have a hard time looking pasted the flaws when you had two beta test to work the issues out. The support for this game is horrid. No other game developer would dream of ignoring answering the questions of their customers and expect to stay in business. As a customer I expect to have updated from time to time to let know know that you care about your product and not that "we got your money". The silence from every one at Crytech is very disappointing. I've been playing games from the beginning, I started on Atari. The recent release of less that par games is very troubling considering how much the industry makes a year.No other industry in the world could stay in business went they put out such low quality products but the video game industry can because you mostly deal to people less than 18. Please show some support for you product by listening to your players and let us know if and when we can expect some changes to issues that you knew about months ago during your beta tests.

I think game developers that respond immediately to every complaint are the exception and not the rule. Give them some time I'm sure we'll get a patch. I would love to have one quickly too, but realistically it's probably not going to happen as fast as us gamers want.

I sure hope so, not many EA games are dependable, besides BC2.

Patching doesn't just happen with the push of a button. They're going to have to run any patch through numerous tests to make sure it doesn't negatively impact some other aspect of the game. Once thats done and the patch is finished it has to be submitted to Microsoft for certification, which can generally take a week itself. Sure there was a beta/demo, but that can only go so far to expose flaws or problems, most won't pop up until the masses start playing the game. With that being said, the games been out a total of one week. Give them time, and I'm sure they'll give you results.

This is the problem. We are expected to wait and hope that they do something in a timely manner with no answer to our questions. We paid good money or in some cases trades in good games for a game that is not finished. Is this want the gaming industry has become? I for one remember a time when a game wasn't released until it was in perfect working condition but now with the next generation we are expected to buy a game and wait for months for the game to be updated enough to be truly worth the money we paid. This is not right. I would never come out with a product and tell me customers that they will have to wait a few months after buying it that it will work correctly. I would lose everything. No trying to give the younger crowd a hit but when you get older you'll understand that things like this are wrong. If you bought a car but the car could go above 20 mph would you be happy? The same idea is the case for video games.

I think its particularly tacky that the devs havent come and said something about the issue. Quietly sweep it under the floor.
I for one, am returning the game as soon as I finish the single player campaign.

I found this today and, hopefully, this will make us players feel more at ease now. It seems that Crytek does realize that there are problems with the game and they are working on fixing these problems.

Gave em time to write the code and test it before release. Idk about you but if I was a dev producer coder or whatever you wanna call it, id ensure that the product im working on is a complete and finished product before releasing it! The company i work for has tons of awesome products that has gone thru TONS of R&D before we release to the public. oh and btw ive done game testing before and it actually is just about as fast a the push of a button. haha sure yeah MS does slow it down a day or two but how long has this game been out? how fast are other first person shooters updated? COD is updated very fast after a glitch is exposed or something isnt working properly and so is halo. honest im tired of EA! they are the worst ever. terrible producers with terrible servers (thank god this game doesnt use those) i really was hoping EA stepped it up here. great campaign with a joke of a multiplayer.

I totally agree with you. I time they need to do away with patches all together. It just promotes poor releases. See how long these games last if you could no longer do patches every 2 weeks. Then developers would stop cutting corners and thinking "We'll get to it later".

the game's been out less then a week, name one other game that didn't have bugs with launch and didn't get patched eventually? Give them some time guys sheesh, it'll be another few weeks MINIMAL before a major patch and plus their are size limitations for consoles so everything wont be patched immediately. Jut be patient, guess you shoulda rented the game from gamefly or something first if you're this disappointed with it.

I think you're missing the real issue here. The developers of all companies are cutting corners. We as consumers are being cheated and robbed. I know I'm talking to a community of mostly people below the age of 18. I just don't get why you all can be a peace with spending your money on things that are only half done with the hope of they may fix it, talk solely to the people who are defending this behavior. I myself never pay for half a product and hope later that I'll get the other half. Since your that uninterested in money then just send it to me and I'll have a great time just like the developers are doing right now with our money we paid for this game.

I don't mean to be an ass, but could you even possibly begin to fathom how complicated programming a game like this could be? Do you understand that patching is not a simple "fix this problem" task? Each problem is interconnected with unbroken parts of the game... By going in and blindly "fixing" things you have a high probability of breaking others.

Just because you can hammer away on your keyboard and make letters in Microsoft Word, doesn't mean you have a firm understanding of the internal processes of a program.

I'm not saying give them all the time in the world. It does need to be done in a timely manner, but ****, it's only been a week. Chill out. You're ranting on things you have no actual, concrete knowledge of.

The point is games have become a multibillion dollor industry, and 3D graphics have been around since Playstation 1. Games are beyond prototypes ,and to some degree these apparent problems with the game are inexcusable. Yet release after release we get the same problem with games nowadays, unfinished unpolished glitchy etc..We all no that they will "have a patch incoming", duh! We just want to hear those simple words and be recognized for our grief as soon as possible. is our impatience to much? I don't think so. I would be relieved just to hear a patch was coming and they don't no how soon.

The Xbox 360 version is the highest seller out of the three platforms. Hardly a side bonus. Patience people, game has only been out a week.
