How do you know if the patch is downloaded? My version for the exe is 1.1.1.271

I had to exit, later restart steam for the patch to download. I was wondering too "where the hell is this patch at?"

I have a possible solution for you folks.

Steam wouldn't let me play saying the game was Unavailable. Restarts weren't helping. I eventually realized there was supposed to be yet another small patch today. I disabled and re-enabled auto updates and it started the download.

1. In Steam, click Library, then Games.
2. Right click Fallout: New Vegas, select Properties
3. In the new window click the Updates tab
4. In the drop-down menu, select "Do not automatically update this game", then switch it back to "Always keep this game up to date".
5. Repeat it a few times if it doesn't see the update right away after switching to "Always keep this game up to date". (it took me 3 or 4 times)

Is something supposed to pop up when you get an update? I tried Briareos method but nothing seemed to happen after a few dozen tries. The update is rather large so I assume I couldn't just miss it right? Is there anywhere where you can see if the update has been applied. There is nothing in the downloads section of the steam client.
