Something changed with the patcher today and it started to install an EU version alongside the regular game. Some people were able to copy the files over from the original folder to the EU one and then the installer would recognise it and be done but that didn't work for me; it still wanted to download another 21Gb.

After much frustration, I gave in and decided to delete the whole thing and reinstall from scratch. So I did that but the patcher has still put two versions on disk and worse still, it is downloading the update on BOTH versions! Both folders are increasing at the same time and the patcher is actually using double the bandwidth that it is reporting.

My internet connection is so slow that it is likely to take several days to download as it is, but trying to download 2 of them at the same time would take over a week!

Any help appreciated - I really can't afford to be maintaining two copies of this huge game on my internet connection.

why do you even have the launcher on ?

I just deleted my US one and kept the EU one, hopefully they don't change their minds and make beta's for different area's at different times. Also explains the huge lag I had during the last beta if it was in the US.

Because I knew they would be updating things and I know how slow my internet connection is so I check it every day to see if there is anything new that needs downloading. I also tried deleting the US version but as soon as I open the patcher it just puts it back and tries to download both of them again.

This is another reason why I think that the beta forums should be open now.

There is an option in your launcher to select EU region, if you put that it should stop trying to get the US version.

I deleted mine and its gone for good, only EU one is there now. (and PTS, but i have no idea what that version does)

Yeah I have already checked to make sure I have the Europe region set. I don't know why it insists on trying to download both. Something is very wrong.

I agree with Bloodlance. You should not even be trying to update. It could be they are running some DL server tests and you will now have to start all over yet again once the next beta is out.

I am also sad that the beta forums are down when beta is down. It seems to me that leaving the beta forums up for players would provide a lot of very good feedback potentially (and a lot of crappy feedback as well, of course).

The PTS is the Private Test Server as far as I know. Meaning for the people who have extended testrights

I got lucky enough that copying worked, so I only had to sit through a very tiny patchdownload. Can't you pause one of the two?
