Pathetic enemy levels

So Im lvl 180 and the majority of random enemy encounters are lvl 1-3. Npcs that low shouldn't be possible to spawn.

Why should it matter that low level npcs are spawning? Not every enemy should be level 180 since they haven't gone through the same types of struggles as your character. What is more ridiculous is level 180 Molerats or level 180 raiders that still use Pipe guns. So unless you are going after Deathclaws, Assaultrons, or Gunners in Power Armor, then the majority of hostile npcs should be less than level 100.

Besides, the game is not designed around post level 100 characters. Any real challenge to the game requires mods.

I believe the best thing is a unscaled mod.

Makes npcs of all levels spawn.

Could have a group of raiders. One could be level 4 while the guy next could be level 98. You never know what people are capable of anymore

Yeah, I have a high level character going.

He doesn't usually bother with the low level spawns.

He leaves them for the hired help to shoo away.

Enemies should be at least the player's level. lvl 1 enemies are no challenge to anyone, ever.

Frak that go back to the days of Morrowind , you could go some places at level 10, and at level 100 everywhere . Enemies scaling to the player is rubbish makes the world fill so fake , a play ground made just for the player.

But... but...

WE were level 1 enemies when we started out!!

Enough low-level enemies can wear you down. But I agree that a few enemies who are ridiculously low-level by comparison, are no threat.

It's nice to actually get to that level where you can steamroll over NPC mooks once in a while, though... that's kind of the point of being high level. I like that every so often I still meet a couple raiders who go down in a single shot with a pipe rifle.

Is this a PC thing? I'm on PS4 and I wasn't aware that I could tell what level the enemies were/are. The best I can do is guess an approximate level, based on how much EXP I earn.

Starkaos, you made me chuckle at the thought of a level 180 molerat. Oh, and there are ways to introduce extra challenges to the game that don't require mods (and don't involve bullet-sponge enemies).

Yeah. I wish the free roam enemies can scale up randomly from -10 to +5 of player's level.

awareness perk brah. Take your bullet sponge [censored] elsewhere, a deaf baby with 2 club feet for hands could beat this game on survival it's way too easy.

Just wait for the GECK. The Amount of high Level Mobs is very low.

Exactly.

On pc however there is a mod that lets you spawn only high level enemies, like level 66-100. It's called 'Harsher Commonwealth' and it has an Nightmare.*esp that enables that.

I like to see more scaling as well. 30 xp for S M, not good. Since this game has no level cap there should be some way to earn xp without need of running around just doing radiant quests.

Cheers,
