Patrol & Guard Pckge, Allowing Player to pass

I have a ship that is patrolled on deck by a soldier using Patrol and Guard Package, also the soldier has a Sleep and Guard Package (soldier sleeps on deck), so player is constantly warned to "Back off" or "That's close enough" before the soldier goes mental. All works fine. Another NPC informs player prior to player nearing the ship that "Something strange happening on that ship, nobody gets on or off and they receive deliveries of something. Can't even get on board as the soldier even sleeps on deck but have noticed that the soldier goes inside the ship at 1 'O' clock everyday" Player is prompted to investigate using the window of 1 >2pm when the soldier goes inside. So player enters ship at appropriate time slot, is forcegreeted by the Captain, "What you doing here...blah, blah..." and eventually player and Captain come to an agreement, typical favour for a favour. Now what I need is that the player is no longer bothered by the guard patrolling on deck and is free to pass. Adding player to the ship's faction or vice versa may help but the soldier on deck will still run the same packages and stop/warn the player. I know I can duplicate the soldier - minus Patrol and Guard, Sleep and Guard Packages and disable the original but is there an easier way around this? Thanks in advance.
