[Req] Patrolling Guards

It would also be nice if someone would maybe make some patrolling guards as there were in Oblivion? Guards that patroll specific routes throughout morrowind either by themselves or maybe in a little group? Maybe even have some ride horses (armored) :D

just a idea.

There was a project like this IIRC, I can't remember the exact name btw.
If I remember it I'll tell you. As far as I know it was never finished or it was still quite buggy.

Had to google "IIRC" came up with a bunch of wierd abbreviations but i think i found the correct one "If I remember Correctly" lol..

Both, some guards will walk around the roads and patrol them while others will sit tight at the towns and forts.

Well this isn't exactly the same thing.
As far as I can tell the guards don't really "walk" from a city to another but they spawn randomly and walk for a little. Still better than nothing, though.

EDIT: maybe I didn't understand perfectly the request in the OP.
I thought you wanted some guards to patrol from a city to another.

I may be wrong too, but if I remember right then Starfire's NPC Additions do add a few patrolling guard groups to the roads around Balmora ( and possibly other cities ). It's been awhile since I used the mod because it was causing my PC to crash whenever an NCP would teleport out of a town. Anyone want to confirm this for the OP?

I can confirm that they walk into the town, but I'm almost sure that they don't go outside (neither in groups) to patrol until arrived to another city.
I remember another project aiming to this but I still don't remember the name. :P

Yes, i wanted a mod that hads guards that walk the major rodas in Morrowind, going through town to town. Eventually going back to their main headquarters.
So technically I could follow a guard from where he first started. and he would patrol the roads and eventually go back to the same start point. (if he survives the trip)

EDIT: Have guards that take different roads and stuff. So they are everywhere.

Are you sure that they walk from town to town?
I played a lot for testing but never seen them. If they are then good one, a nice feature that I didn't know about. :D

I'm not quite sure how far they patrol. I've followed one or two groups quite a ways before, but I've never followed them to the end of their routes so I couldn't say if they make it all the way to new towns or not.

Starfire was trying to show "product" as in "to fill out morrowind" - The houses are in a temporary truce - Telvanni might have stumbled upon Hlaalu ground. Also I think in that particular video the Telvanni are rogue. I know you can come across guards fighting rouge wizards.

MMmm. Don't know if id like to use such a mod if the guards are fighting each other. Seems like a exploit to just sit and wait for guards to kill each other off "Wait for whaetver weak one is left alive and slay him" take all their armors and sell it for gold :S

Morrowind Comes Alive has the tools to have varieties of the guards generated, but someone who just need to add a script that would have them walk from one city to another - I'm assuming that creating a wander Ai and path grids isn't what you mean... there is a mod that creates wandering traders with pack guars, maybe someone could apply the AI of that to the generator in MCA.

haha - you know this exists in morrowind too? A certian daedric ruin where ordinator armor will be of the plenty? If this is your only grip with the mod then I cant see an issuie - just dont loot the bodies! Also its VERY RARE.

Morrowind Comes Alive also adds patrols and they do wander around... they don't exactly follow a route along roads, though.

Protective Guards by Fliggerty is also a nice touch, it will make guards attack hostile NPCs. However, it requires MWSE.

It's looking like Starfires NPC mod is what is more closely related to actual patrolling guards. ^^ (minus them attacking each other) hehe

As far as I know Starfire was working on guard patrol routes but I don't think that ever made it to a public release. It was released only as a http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1033781-starfire-npc-additions/page__view__findpost__p__15008759 and it's not a part of Starfires NPC Additions 1.11.
