I'm sure you'll adapt just fine.

Fortunately you're not stuck with it. They aren't preventing people from modding the UI at all (regardless of what some in this thread seem to believe).
You really have no idea what's going on in this post or any of the UI debates. The min/max crowd already have most of what they want via combat logs, DPS meters and floating numbers. The topic at hand is the lack of DOT/Debuff info in the base UI or API support for addon supplementation since ZOS admitted they don't know how to code a decent looking UI icon.
Maybe because min/maxing is how some have fun? Just because you don't understand or like that way of playing doesn't make it any less viable then how you play.
I'd like to see you code a decent looking UI icon. It's a very hard thing to do in code
Anyway, the buff/debuff timers were an excessive luxury as far as I'm concerned. It'd be good to have a full display of buffs/debuffs (without timers) on your own character though. Meanwhile, you can still make addons to see long duration buffs on your enemies, which makes no sense whatsoever.
Nah. I'll just make my own damn addon and move what I want.
Seriously, if it's not in the lower third of my screen I don't even look at it.
The selection of what's left(Just did actually look) is rather depressing.
Though I'm incredibly amused that there's no "omg dps meter" crying anymore, when there's a fully functioning DPS meter up on ESOUI.
What makes no sense to me is why I can't make a circle that lights up on my screen somewhere above my HP bar that denotes I have something wrong, but am forced to try to look at the fairly pain in the butt to see health bar border instead...
Zenimax overreacted to criticism from ignorant, garbage-tier players who were never going to be competitive anyway. The API and UI changes were knee-jerk reactions to quiet that criticism (just like the starter island and tutorial changes). Everything you hear from ZOS now is marketing speak (DPS meters are part of Our Vision, but debuff indicators aren't?) because there isn't enough time to revert the changes before launch.
A few months after launch the buff/debuff features will either be given API support or be implemented in the default UI (like it should have been from the beginning) once YouTube videos and review articles start to complain.
