Pauldrons separate from body.

+1000000

And while they are at it, no more of those stupid one piece sets of armor. I Want to be able to wear two different boots and two different gauntlets as well.

I could understand gauntlets and pauldrons.....but boots?

Wouldn't that be too assymetrical? Think of it this way, ever wear two different shoes at the same time? They feel awkward and disproportioned.

Owell, the more options the better, besides I would just wear matching boots.

Different boots is a bit much personally, seems like you would want to balance that...to better balance. But I can see wearing one gauntlet. Might have one on a weapon arm and a free hand on my shield arm.

I can see wearing only one gauntlet too as a set but two different gauntlets, seems a bit odd to me lol.

lol, my Oblivion characters will shun you because they are symmetrical. :obliviongate: Hell, even my MW character was symmetrical almost, I used different bonemold pauldrons. House Hlaalu had the best looking armor hehe.

How would you guys feel if pauldrons were part of gloves, and gloves were separated again.

Then we could also make boots part of rings, and boots could be separate to!

I don't see why this was changed in Oblivion. Separate pauldrons and gloves for L/R, just like in Morrowind. The only two reasons i can think why this was left out in Oblivion might be laziness, or consolization (fewer buttons to press).

"Consolization"? What do pauldrons have to do with a console and the quantity of button pushing?

I think the problem was clipping, to be honest.

I dont like symmetry.
Its too.. sterile.
I prefer false symmetry, something that at first glance looks symmetrical, but on closer inspection isnt.

Yes please! Left and right pauldrons and gloves! Boots, would be nice, but its not something I really really would want.

This. I fail to see any corrilation between fewer buttons and less armor slots.

I sure hope they will bring back seperate pauldron pieces, but as nothing has been confirmed yet I just assume it will be the same as in Oblivion, or maybe even Fallout where you got one big suit and maybe a helmet.

I recall in the podcast that he said it wasn't gonna be like in fallout

Yep. Too much strain on memory for giant dragon corpses to just lie about....

I'm sure there will be a 0-Day mod that adds persistent dragon copses...and I'll make sure to download it :)

Yeah! Forget pauldrons, forget dual wielding, and forget smithing. In fact, screw Dragons, perks, and all weapons too. They may as well rename it Elder Scrolls V: Colovian Fur Helm

Different Gloves are cool: In Morrowind I would wear the Wraithguard on one hand. And Look at Hellboy, Michael Jackson, Baseball players, Fencers, etc.
Different Boots would be uncomfortable.

Different gloves actually makes some sense, an archer would use a bracer on left hand and a glove on right, you might want a heavy armored glove on your sword arm than the one behind your shield.

hope we see a lot more combat cloth options this time around

magi gloves, boots, pauldrons, war skirts and stuff like that :P they should not have armor value (duh) unless they are enchanted or made from weird threads.

Gauntlet on the left hand, sword on the right, and if you are Khajiiti, you are TES's new http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs46/f/2009/215/7/1/Thundercats_Lion_O_by_2Ajoe.jpg (need to shave off the tail though).

Actually, that's a great point. Dual wield might just have to separate the gauntlets.

It makes sense.

Edit: And in most other games, magic is restricted by armour. So a battlemage would need to have one hand ungauntleted to use it :)
