no pause inventory?

To make it more clear, for me the lack of gameplay on most of the characters atleast in oblivion is filled by tons of weapons and artifacts that you can carry and may find along the way, i mean whats the point to be able to carry 20 swords when you can handle just one pretty well? or carry so many armors when you are able to wear only one and then forge a new one or fix the one tha you already have, its a distraction factor for me, so its not a good element to have all this and have instant access to it in the middle of a battle, you should be able to carry one dagger, a sword, a bow and your armor thats it, anything more than that its unrealistic, on crysis the menu on real time works so well because you dont have thousands of things to choose and the spells could be in a sub menu, but always in real time, i believe this is a very important aspect of the game and they should try to make it really good

I voted for the game pauses. I am use to this, also, this will just become a RTS game then. No thank you to that. With the time scale of what 10 minutes is 2 hours or what ever it is,
I want to read a book, I don't want days and days passing by. I am a slow reader. Also I don't want my reflexes being needed to play a game. I want to take my time, I don't want to
be rushed and by accident drop my weapon, or heaven forbid drop an Artifact and then loose it because I didn't realize I dropped it by hitting the wrong button because I wanted to
equipe my weapon or armour.

Pause on everything for me. It's a connection on the time it takes to roll dice.
Also anything with a GUI have the potential to be slow to use. I want to have that time.
The time spent on actually equipping an item (like a weapon) is in the animation.

Originally I was strongly against the idea, "what I stupid idea" I thought
But after thinking about certain instances I thought "that would be handy"

There's a proposed "hardcoe mode" for Skyrim going around, I'm thinking that maybe this should be part of the hardcoe mode? I mean, more casual players would want to pause the game while changing armor/weapons or equipping potions.

Also, if there is a no pause menu option, it should not be accessible during combat.

No pause option would be great, but only as an option. I prefer to have all the time in the world to dig through my things or read the journal, but it would be great to switch it off for the hardcoe mode.

Given the very obvious pause / no pause divide in the poll, pausing or not pausing in various situations should be a configurable option so that it pauses for those that want it to and doesn't for those who don't. ^^

I would really like real time inventory menus for everything it would make hotkeys more important

I discovered this annoyance today playing ob where I had to go into the menu several times during a storm and found the nice rain sound paused along with my game
if this real time thing cannot be modular can the background sounds please still run

sorry if this has already been mentioned
