We haven't even SEEN all the items (that list previously posted is so incomplete it actually hurt my head to believe someone assumed that was the full list), the game isn't out yet, and you're already concerned about keeping the game "fresh"?

Sheesh. Have a little faith in the developers. I'm sure they already have stuff lined up for DLC.

24 weapons. 4 slots each. Around 6 options each. maybe 8 paint jobs per weapon.

That's 4,608 combinations for one weapon slot, give or take several hundred. 9,216 for the two weapon slots.

Yes, that is over nine thousand. Over nine thousand ways to customize the two weapons you bring into battle.

Stop complaining.

... Are you hiding from the Internet? Because that meme is everywhere and I am not even joking a little bit.

I think your friend has the last laugh that you spent two years waiting to hear that when I'm sure any of us can find 20 references to it posted every day across the Internet, if not more.

I'd guess with all the open and closed forums around the internet, its http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f64/Wik1d/over_9000.jpg references a day.

The advantage to having a store is that you get to pick and choose what you want.

Oftentimes with DLC I'm only interested in part of it. Like with BLOPS, I was only interested in the new zombie map. But i couldn't just buy the one map, I had to buy the entire pack which came with a bunch of stuff I didn't want and rarely used. Money wasted.

And if they make guns available in the store, they'll probably be weak/balanced and mostly for show.

ugh i'm starting too get scared by people again, who would want a gun pack DLC? that'd just punish people who don't have the money too buy it and reward the people who spend 100$ on one game.

i.e.-i begin with a 4 shot repeating nader ,you begin with a 12 shot repeating laser guided sniper rocket launcher that splits into 24 mini rockets with 200% blast radius.

Brink is all about being fair, and you guys are all worried that out of nowhere they're gonna give people with money advantages?

They will make more money with out this, if they did have it.. Bad Reviews would spring up..

Eighth Wonder of The World!

The Ark.

Anyways, yeh.. Guys don't worry im certain that there will be no 'unfair' deals.

Hacking is what you wanna cry over.. well get angry about...

If I was going to add weapons via dlc I would just clone the stats on the current ones for balance,so you would have a "new" weapon but with the stats of an existing one. Also you would need to download an update to see the skins which you could do like red dead did an offer the pre-order stuff as part of it,or halt online play until the update is downloaded.

If you copied the stats from another gun there would be little usefullnis to the gun, there not making exclusive guns for download, SD is not a [censored] company like most other companies.

Basic business principle. (and SD is a business) They will sell DLC. Whether that is in the form of "packs" or individual items, is yet to be seen. This is a way for them to maximize profits. They give us a product, and if we'd like.....we can "upgrade" for more money. ex. You can buy a car. Next guy can buy same car, but he may spend a little extra on the premium wheels, upgraded stereo, etc.

*Edit*
Just read through rest of post. Weapons etc, SHOULD be better. Not just a re-skin of existing weapons. You may not think it's fair, but guess what? It is. If someone is paying a premium, for DLC, it should be better or ppl won't bother with it. That said, it should hopefully not be so overpowered that it breaks the gameplay mechanics for everyone who doesn't have it.

The advantage to having a store is that you get to pick and choose what you want.

It's only an advantage if you pay less for the base product.

Which you usually don't. Games get more expensive and on top of that you don't get free updates every now and then but pricy ones, compared to what you got in an Add-On some years ago.

weapons , abilities , stuff that give you an advantage in combat will be free (hopefully)

clothing, weapon-SKINS, tattoos... so DECORATIVE stuff will be as well available for cash or short rentals for free with earned credits

Yeah I'm pretty much sure that if there will be a store it's going to be like this,
since it's not fair that people who spend money on items will have great advantages
over people that choose to save their money.

"His jid jik alaks dif fih fih jisk alaks jid hif"

I dare you to say that.

Yes, you can buy a car. Yes, you can make that car better. However, cars and games aren't the same in the fact that cars are not a competition.

Stock cars and games are a better comparision, in that Stock car racing is a competition, and is immediately imbalanced (and illegal) if one racer fitted his car with jet engines just because he had that kind of money.

In the same vein of my previous statement, If you start selling weapons that are supposed to be better than the ones you got with the stock game, you put everyone that didn't buy the DLC at a disadvantage. You force everyone to buy the DLC or be a horrible player. Any net advantage at all that seperates DLC players from stock Brink players destroys the customizability and maxmized player experience Splash Dmaage has been fighting for.

Right now, the team at Splash Damage is focused on completing Brink for its release in May. If/when there’s post release DLC, we’ll let you guys know about it when the time comes… but we definitely won’t be selling weapons on an individual basis.

They could sell new perks, clothes, archetypes, maps, and objectives for existing maps.
