[WIP] Pegasus Estate

Post » Sun Nov 28, 2010 5:41 am

Yes, the Estate has moved to a real exterior cell, off the Azura Coast (http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/MAP.jpg). The fps is actually better now and hopefully noone's already picked this spot.
Looks like it http://www.mwmythicmods.com//MessofModsMap_Vality7.jpg fit with TR Map 2. For a good idea of what's there check out Rougetet's http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6000.

Thank you very much for the links :) From the map, it looks ok but I'll use Rougetet's tool to make sure.

I've been having fun working on the training area. The idea is this, the player needs to go through a series of tunnels to activate 5 switches. Until the 5 switches are activated, the traning area with have only the simplest of features. The switches need to be activated only once. This is not a maze that will frustrate you and you won't die either.
**http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/parcours.jpg (the axes swing but won't hurt you. They'll push you though.

After so much exercice, I felt it was time to worry about dinner so I started to work on the reception hall. It is one of the rooms that the player will have to have built (the house has a mess hall from the start) . It is essentially a very large dining room as well as a ballroom. I'm planning to have 2 versions: party on (table set, npcs in), party off, dishes on the shelves, no npcs. That's the plan at least.

Finally, I've changed the bridge outside (after I realise you need to be a giant if you want to fish from that bridge or be as slim as a snale to walk over it).

Indeed they do so you can place items on the shelves inside. There are however plenty of conventional containers.

Very, very nice. I have been monitoring this thread--not that you'd know, but I am. ;)

I don't know if I asked, but will the mannequins you use be able to brandish weapons? Some types can; some can't.

And is there any chance you could offer an optional ESP substituting the flesh mannequins for the wood type? I find they add much more flavor to the game.

Glad you like what's been done so far :)

I'm using BB wooden mannequins already but I have yet to check whether they can hold weapons. In any case, all the mannequins are moveable and disposable so they can be replaced by any other type you might prefer.

I've made little progess recently (new job, town and pc) but the training area is almost done. It will most likely replace the dojo and completing the challenge will unlock new training facilities.
I'll post more info/screens/vids as soon as I get them :)

News?

Not much to report for now, real life finally caught up with me, big time.
Pegasus Estate is not dead though, it is why I started modding in the 1st place. Things will be more quiet for me in January, expect some news then.

At last some progress!

The training area is finished. Its features are:
= Working practice dummy and storage http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/MGEScreenshot8.jpg
= A series of short trials that unlock the thief lair and the duelling pit (Bloodmoon challenge, Daedric challenge and Dwemer challenge) http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/MGEScreenshot9.jpg
= Thief lair: relocking trapped doors, working practice target, lockpick maker, quest to be able to poison vanilla marksman weapon http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/MGEScreenshot10.jpg
= Duelling pit: defeating your opponent will give you no loot other than a trophee. Different trophees depending on the level of you opponent. http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/screen_trophees.jpg

The mine is finished a well. It rumoured to have been blessed by Azura herself...
= Glass veins.
= Blue glass vein http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/MGEScreenshot12.jpg --> can be used by a smith to enhance existing weapons so they are sharper and lighter while holding greater enchantments http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/screen_blue_weapons.jpg
Nothing uber, 2-5pts damage added, 1-3pts weight removed, +25%health, +50% enchant, 0.25 pt speed added.

The Arboretum is done too! http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/MGEScreenshot6.jpg
= Every plant is in there.
= Pretty but no fancy script

Please let me know what you think :)

Thanks, correcting that right away :)

I'm currently making new bedrooms and I have enlarged (doubled really) the display hall and added placeable displays and extra mannequins in the storage.

The crypt is pretty much done as well. It features:
= Master Bedroom
= Jail (really big, I like to have plenty of food in the pantry)
= Bedrooms and coffins for your favourite children
= A living (er, so to speak) area
= An room of Arcane
= Storage and display, of course
http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/Cryptmesshall.jpg (just one for now, more to come after I've done a couple of bedrooms)

Two of the guest rooms are done.

The wolven room: wolves and stones with some wood to warm the atmosphere http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/MGEScreenshot2.jpg
The Pink room; feminine room with tapestries, pink marble and flowers http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/MGEScreenshot1.jpg

Both rooms have their en suite bathroom, containers and display areas (some with glass doors) and ... a secret and discreet passage to the Lady or the Lord's rooms.

I'll add screens and vids later.

Very nice! I especially like the detail in the latter. :) I assume the objects on the floor will be somehow held down, to prevent the effects of the wonderful Whiplash Engine™ from tossing them across the room as you walk by?

Great stuff. I liked your closet with door, and your glassed-in cabinet. The arboretum has a pleasantly lush feel, and the Telvanni architecture (which some may find out of place) I thought fit what you wanted to do perfectly. After all, the previous owner was wealthy and more than a bit of a student of cultures and histories. Might be nice to drop a few books in there--ones on the flora, for instance.

Looking forward to the study and "pink room." Let's see how it looks, and then I can offer advice on names for you to reject. :)

I'm working on a house mod myself, but I'm stuck at the moment with some of the meshes I don't like, I see you have several custom meshes, which are new to me like the wardrobe/container, with the doors opening, or the tea set, or the scripted weapon rack, or the hidden door, or the small bath cabinet, with glass windows etc. :)

Could you tell me where I could find the meshes you are working here with?

Thanks, Feyiin is an eccentric (great excuse to camouflage my own eccentricity)so growing a telvanni tower indoor is perfectly normal :) To have the arborteum built, the quest will involve getting sample of the plants (not bitter coast plants, Feyiin already had those), gathering info (including the book on flora) and enlisting the help of a telvanni mage.
I'm following a strict policy of not putting clutter in the rooms unless it's scripted or in places difficult to reach ingame as most players like to decorate their houses.
I should be uploading the vid of the pink room today, your ideas are more than welcome :)
I might have gone overboard with the study: Feyiin is very much into history and Dwemer lore is no exception, so his study, while it's based on the rich common tileset has elements of Dwemer architecture...Screen later on today

Your best bet is to go on PES and go through the 'modders resources' and 'models and textures' categories.
The wardrobe (with green doors I assume) is http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.List's, the doors opening (from the dresser I guess) is from http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.List, and the tea set as well as the weapon cabinet (with a door as well)are Korana's, her stuff is at Elric. Good luck with your house mod!

Thanks a lot! Completion of the house itself won't take too long (a few of months) but the creation of the dialogues and scripts for the house and the staff will tale way more time...

Hello again, I've tidied my photobucket albums and updated the OP. All the links in the OP are good, unlike those of the posts.

So here's the whole lot again PLUS the video of the study (I forgot to buff up the light when I made it, it's acutally lighter ingame)

Pegasus Grounds:
Situated west of the Azura Coast http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/Danae123123/WIP%20Pegasus%20Estate/MAP.jpg

For a title of the room, what about Dibella? I'm thinking that since Feyiin was a scholar, he might chose to name at least a few rooms after various gods and historical figures. So the library might be Julianos, etc.
