Loaded every one of my saves, and they ALL freeze the entire game and console even when I get to a certain point in the hallway right after the cobwebs.

Same exact place every time on all saves. This is not random. This is some issue. I've let it stay frozen to see if it can find its way out of it, 45 minutes later still frozen, no movement happened whatsoever.

The freeze is so bad the only way out is to manually power down and power back up my console. It completely locks it up.

Its the only place I ever had a issue like this, and I have no other issues with other games on this console. So this is a repeatable, recreate-able isolated incident. Definitely pointing to a issue with the game.

Has anyone else experienced this ? And if so, is there a way to fix it so I can do the quest ?

I'm on a XBox 360 all latest updates, etc..

Hmm have you tried loading a save before you have started the whole quest, ie never talked to the begger?

I don't know what would cause it to crash, but I know that exactly halfway down the hallway you are teleported to another location, without warning, and the game loads the new area.
Your game sounds like it is failing to load the new area properly.

It 'could' be a scratched disk if my solution doesn't work AND it doesn't work on other characters.

Well I do have saves from about 2 hours before all the way to 15 minutes before. But none are before I talked to the beggar. I talked to him ages ago, and never took on the quest till now. (kinda been overwhelmed by people asking me to do stuff everywhere I go). But all but 1 of the earlier saves (longer ago saves) are before I entered the Blue Palace. So figured that would be good enough.

This sounds like right where it freezes, approximately. Hmmm.


This is possible. I looked at it, and it looks flawless, but you know how scratches can be. Tricky little devils.

It svcks, But I will try starting a new character, and then going straight to Solitude and doing this quest first thing to see if it works or freezes on another fresh character.

Ok, well now I did a search on google (for a broad aspect) and here in these forums and TONS of results came back of many people experiencing the same EXACT issue in the same EXACT place ! All on different platforms, different hours on game, etc.. So I am beginning to think this is a real actual bug/issue Bethesda has to address and should be reported as such to the appropriate people.

I think it is getting overlooked as everyone trying to help us with this same problem seems to think it is just a one time thing, so the situation isn't getting escalated properly.

Bethesda, PLEASE help, fix, etc... this is rather upsetting.
