Everytime I manage to get my vault stable and have some breathing room to utilize the SPECIAL training rooms and explorations, the raiders, fires, and radroaches just dogpile me. Way faster than I can keep Stimpaks restocked. I just watch of room of 6 people die to 1 single radroach because I flew through my 30 stimpak stockpile on the previous 2 raider attacks that happened 5 and 10 minutes before. My dwellers all had weapons. The radroach killed the entire room, then 5 showed up in a different room. I decided I was done at that point. 6 armed people getting killed by 1 radroach is just dumb. There was no visual difference in this super-radroach and all the other normal ones.
If I keep my power/water/food in the red, it's silence. Nothing attacks. Nothing goes wrong. No fires. No bugs. No raiders. But as soon as I start getting back on my feet, they all show up again. The better I do, the more frequently they happen. Like clockwork. There is nothing random about it. And the enemies get stronger and stronger the more full your green bars are. You'll can actually pinpoint the spot at which the raiders change from knives to guns on the green power/food/water bars.
So basically, this game penalizes you for doing well. You will never have relaxed gameplay. Half your vault will get wiped out whenever the game sees you're doing too well. If you don't get kicked to the ground on the first raid/fire/infestation, you can bet another one will be around in a few minutes. You're better off just letting all your people die instead of wasting stimpaks on them. Or better yet, don't let your resoures go too much out of the red.
Alternatively, you can turn the game off while waiting for the timers to tick down. There are no disasters when the game is off. But, then you get penalized via resource loss just for not playing and have to spend your first 10 minutes when you start playing again rebuilding your resources.
I just don't get it. They should have just made a clone of the timer system used by every other app where you log in, do some stuff, then go back to real life for a few hours. By penalizing you for even doing that, it makes you wonder how exactly you're supposed to play this game.
This game needs to decide if it's a full-time game, or typical app with timed processes. You can't have both. Right now it's a mix with a completely unfair penalty for doing well.
