People are blowing this grain glitch way out of proportion

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 1:03 am

I didn't know what it was until I actually realised that I have been experiencing it since launch. What does that tell you about the affect on playability? I'll let you think about it.

It's not distracting. If it is it's because you're paying too much attention to it. I notice it sometimes (I'm not sure when but Skyline comes to mind a lot). But it doesn't ruin the game. Sure the game isn't perfect but what game is?

Is all the rage about the fact the game is "unplayable" as some people overexaggerate? or are they angry that the glitch is there in the first place? Because going so far as to complain with the intensity that people do just because something is there when it shouldn't seems very childish. Yes, it would be great if it was gone but acting as if Crytek are the devils because of it is going a little far.

Lag etc is a worthy reason to get upset about this game.

The way I look at it is this. You've just gone into your local SAAB dealership, and purchased a nice shiny new car. On your way home you notice a small crack in the windscreen. So I'm guessing you would carry on driving it home as 'you're paying too much attention to it' and it 'wouldnt matter' would you ????

Of course you wouldn't, and you know it. Just because you think a defect in a game is acceptable I'm afraid the majority don't and won't. The Grain Glitch is just one of the ever increasing problems with Crysis 2, that shouldn't be in the ''finished version'

People have every right to be angry and demand action.

Dude a $60 game and a a car running into the thousands are completely different. So is your anology. A windscreen crack can endanger ones life in the case of a car crash, as it reduces the overall intergrity of the windscreen and ones safety.

I understand your overarching points, that ones paid for a product that is "marked" but the anologies are not very good lol

It's very unlikely that a grain glitch will kill me so there two different issues, unless the glitch is causing someone so much stress that it induces a heart attack, in that case then it is best that Natural Selection takes it course. IMO no-one is fit enough to exist if they got that stressed over minor issue, especially in a video game. It's not exactly living in accordance to 'spartan' ideals and priorities.

It depends on your xbox and TV dude. I've seen that the HDTVs suffer from the grain a lot more. Im on a standard definition TV, and its still pretty hard to snipe from a distance..

I have witnessed the glitch while it is just barely noticeable, and when it is completly distracting. There are degrees of how bad it gets, the worst being night levels. My girlfriend asked me what was wrong with our hdtv during the last chapter and i never told her about the glitch! It is a problem and it is distracting. When I finished the game I was more happy to not have to look at it again than to have finished a 10 hour campaign, because 4 hours of it looked pretty awful for being ' the best looking game on console'.

I personally find it extremely distracting

distracting to the point that I've stopped playing the game until they fix it

it's not suppose to be there

if you can look past it and enjoy the game, then good for you

however, many many people can not and will not ignore it because we paid to play the game the way it's meant to be played

I want it fixed

So the grain glitch has varying intensities? I never knew that. I thought it was the same for everyone.
