People need to realise

Post » Wed Feb 19, 2014 7:46 pm

People need to realize that the number of people playing on one faction over the other does NOT matter. Every campaign can only have a set number of people(2000 per campaign) and every faction can only have a set number of people(probably around 650). This means that unless one faction does not have enough players to fill one campaign it wont matter as every faction has a limit to how many people are on. Meaning no side can overpower the other based on population.

It's pretty balanced anyway though isn't it?

Hmmm, there are plenty of threads with POLLS that can show you how balanced they are. Gotta remember that most people looking at them are guests though, and not everybody getting it or trying to decide comes to these Forums.

I know that there are plenty of polls, and quite aware that not nearly everyone who will play this game is on this forum. but the polls cant be used to justify the actual player count per faction. I think the few who dont realize this should know incase they worry about faction imbalance.

It will get unbalanced when let's say , EP has 200 more players than the AD and DC. No problem for any of the campaigns, except the newest one -> EP will outnumber the other factions greatly

You will get other issues, one is that people will go to Cyrodil at level 10 to get the skyshard and xp, try pvp, then most will leave, players in campaign would not be similar to players doing PvP.

Well these "caps" change nothing to overpopulation as lets say team A have 50% of the player base team b 25% and team C 25%. Well they will alow team A to represents 50% of the player population in every campaing otherwise they would have to put half of team A in.... well no campaign.

Maybe there's a minimum number for each faction before a campaign is formed? In that case the overpopulated faction's (say Ebonheart Pact) players could end up waiting in queues? That would svck.

Exactly :P

As long as no faction sinks below 30% pop there shouldnt be any problem.

I think they have queues, so it just svcks if your alliance is over populated

No zenimax always said they didn't care about "overpopulated" faction since the other 2 factions can just somewhat ally agaisnt the winning faction.

Just because each alliance can be represented by the same number of players in a campaign, that doesn't mean the war is a balanced one. An alliance could have almost everyone logged in working to capture keeps while another alliance has its players split up defending scrolls or off questing/exploring or ganking random strays. Then there is the possibility that an alliance has reached their campaign size limit while the others are barely half way there. Then of course there is the level or quality of players within a campaign. A good level 40 or 50 player with matching gear is on par with 2-4 (or more) level 10 players who have been scaled up as they rushed to Cyrodiil.
