To people playing on PS3 and complaining about lag

Many gamers playing Brink on PS3:
STOP USING WIRELESS CONNECTION for goodness sake!

Who the hell uses wireless to play online games? you use ETHERNET CABLE to play ONLINE GAMES!

freaking hell man and all these people complain about lag. Just because the almighty ps3 features wireless connection doesn't mean it is granted for you to use and play online. You use the wireless to use the internet browser, chat with friends, use the PSN store and other functions of the PS3.
However you use ETHERNET Connection cable to play games online!

data packets transferring with wireless comes in small bits therefore the game lags, with ethernet cable it can carry lots of packets.

I've probably played online games on wireless for the last 6 years or so and I don't lag, so don't blame it on all WLANs, have good enough WLAN and good signal and it's totally fine :D

Given, that's on PC.

Although i do agree that many people like to play on wireless and complain about lag that isn't always the case. I have my Ethernet cable securely plugged into the back of my PS3 and hopped into around 2 or 3 games that were laggy beyond all reason.

Hey smart a$$, just in case you didn't know cuz of the lack of research you did on your end, it's not just the people using wireless or just ps3 users. This is a major problem on both consoles wireless and wired. I'm on 360 with ETHERNET connections and it still lags horribly.

Exactly my point!
you are connected using ethernet and jumped online, with idiots using wireless, their wireless was the problem causing the lag.
And those people jump on this forum shouting about lag.

So far the games I've played online, everyone had good health green bars.
My last game I joined was two @ssh.. using wireless with red bars, and the game was lagging and jumping and sh...
I instantly quit the game.

people should also turn off the stupid torrent when gaming online!

Hmmm, no other games have issues with my wireless internet, especially not BFBC2, CoD, TF2 (PC), Monster Hunter, Rift, WoW, etc.

I game wireless on all my consoles and PC and my download and upload speed are faster than most people on wired connections.

Actually most of the time I have very little lag in Brink.

Major rage over something you can't do a thing about. This seems kind of pointless.

And, I have to go with WASPCore, because I'm a ps3 user who plays all of my games wireless and I even watch netflix on my ps3 wireless [*gasp* OMG]. And Brink lag is going to be a talked about topic for xbox and ps3 users wired or wireless for a while, at least until the patches start to come and we don't freeze mid run then randomly end up mid-way parkouring up the side of a wall. We literally just got our network back, so I'm willing to bet a percent of the ps3 users even here, didn't see a point to be active or say much about lag until they had a reason to. Now maybe some are complaining, but for all you know some of them are just verifying, yes, the lag is just as bad for the ps3.

If lag is such a big issue with you, maybe you should just stick to private online matches with people you know have "reliable" connections. There had been many a time I was kicked out of a Black Ops lobby because our host or someone else was dragging the game down so much with their connection, couple those kinds of connections with the work that still needs to be done with Brink and you are going to get what you have now, a lot of people talking about a lot of lag that we can't do much about.

Seems like you just need to relax, and take a break from Brink or something, or at least play solo so there's no one you have any reason to complain about.

ok I'm starting to think the problem might be down to this game:/

I was playing a match today with about 5/6 people all with green bar and the game was lagging man. It wasn't bad, but it was lagging and making it so difficult to play.

Apparently I turned off my bittorrent yet the same problem occur. However when the match ended, the game switched server and one person was kicked out. When the next match begins, the game ran fine.

So it's either Brink has a problem or peoples connection are made of sh...

did you actually asked said people if they were using wireless or if they had torrents open? I highly doubt you did. But since this is the internet, you will probably lie.
