You are reading my post wrong, I was saying because of marketing and stuff like that; they couldn't answer all questions (that's my assumption, yeah you are correct). I never said because of marketing werewolves will be in.

I'm implying that making negative assumptions after a Q&A is usually not a good thing.

Alright, but I still think to make an statment based on an asumption, with a tittle that says to stop assuming things, kinda contraversial.
But I won't blame you for trying to throw your opinion in. But honestly, I think it is alright to asume the negative, because if we were all like 'I will buy game no matter what, everything perfect always, everything will be awesome!' they will pretty quickly pick up on it and just build a game that is half finished.(Perfect example of this, Dragon Age 2, their diehard 'game is always perfect' fans allowed them to go about throwing out game after game till they fell on their face and now they are back to slowing things down)
And honestly, I still do not see the logic of why marketing would make them stay quite.
My logic is, if they were able to add werewolfs, they know how much hyper there is about it, and (hopefully) know how combined armor will be a hard thing to swallow,. Would they not try to cover up the armor part with saying 'we have werewolfs'. And honestly, Skyrim ought to have both, Vampires and Werewolfs, now we are lucky if we get one.

Depends on how you look at it. If you start counting the number of threads asking about werewolves, and a bunch of other questions, and you see 156 posts asking about werewolves and 102 about fishy sticks, you get the picture right? I'm talking about statistical important questions. Not the way people think about which question is important.

Anyway, doesn't really matter.

Then don't say the most important. Say the most popular or most discussed.

The example you gave about werewolves would apply here. I couldn't care less about werewolves but I know they're discussed a lot. But to me it's the least important topic I've seen on this forum.

Stating the obvious is a trait I dislike.

I thought about that. But there's a slight difference between an assumption and my opinion that I am positive werewolves will be in, the latter is more a positive attitude. I don't make the assumption they will be in or not, it's more that I have a positive feeling about it.

Then don't say the most important. Say the most popular or most discussed.

Correct, maybe should've used those words instead.

Stating the obvious is a trait I dislike.

Apparently it's not as obvious, otherwise people would not be making these negative assumptions.

I think people just have to look at the good that came with the bad. When we first saw footage we were all nearly exploding with nerdgasms over the awesome new features: duel wielding, duel spell wielding, amazing animations, killing executions, more varied/interesting environments, much more dynamic weather/effects (snow can build up over time!), DRAGONS (along with all their non-scripted goodness), better textures (increased graphics overall really), sprinting.

Then as E3 came around we learnt about more stuff such as the fact we can create our own weapons and armour and actually upgrade it, cook food, take on side jobs for money such as woodcutting, mine for materials and even damage economies altering prices of items, view items in full 3D in the inventory and use that to even solve some puzzles, different ways of spellcasting (rather than just firing a fireball if it's a fire spell), a dragonshout to call a thunderstorm (the first time we've been able to control weather without a mod), more immersive conversations, improved enemy AI, creature ecology, perk trees to help specialise our characters, improved horse riding and increased definition of races.

Other slithers of information have given us stuff like the fact bushes/trees are now dynamic and blow in the wind and also react to player/NPC collision and carriages for people who prefer more realistic fast travel. Radiant AI improved alone with the addition to radiant story (which reacts to NPC relationships, meaning whether someone likes the player or not runs deeper than bartering/chance of getting better info).

Now this Q&A has told us there will be tavern brawls, marriages (who can even move in to your house), body adjustment (no more races being exact same height/build as everyone else in the same race) along with beards and scars (and as shown from screenshots/video, much better face generation than previous games), re-worked loot system, unique dragon armour, better support for PCs and NPCs to now take notice of actual feats accomplished in game rather than just whether you are good or bad.

Iv'e probably missed some stuff but everything here is improvements made or new features added over the other other elder scrolls. All this is also not including other stuff they are obviously keeping to generate hype further down the line and reveal closer to release. So I think it's kind of unfair how people are jumping at bethesda's throats for very few dissapointments when they have added/enhanced so many features of the game to try and make Skyrim great.

tl;dr: There is much more good than bad.

You didn't have a glimpse on anything else either, that applies for both negative as positive assumptions. I still believe it's better to stay neutral than to go too far to either end (positive / negative).

That's why you mainly see complaints about features that are not in. No spears means no spears, no matter how hard you look at it or any amount of information to come will change that. Discussing the features we lost is the one thing we don't have to make assumptions about.

I am not surprised at the disappointment, Q & A sessions in my experience almost always end up in the easiest answers for the devs to answer being picked...or very select answers that have been pre-approved far in advance, and even the ones that are answered usually have at least some amount of dodging.

That's not my meaning. I was talking about the fact that Bethesda didn't say anything about werewolves being in or not, what happens is that people make the assumption that werewolves are not in, a different ballgame.

Right. Because as the saying goes: When you assume, you're not using your brain..

I already know that saying they're not ready to talk about whether werewolves are in doesn't automatically mean they're not in, and this can be applied to anything Bethesda says that about. There was one point where they were asked about horses and said they weren't ready to talk about it, yet they're in. Simply put, "we're not ready to talk about that yet." means just that, Bethesda is not yet ready to discuss something, and there could be many reasons for that. maybe they're not done with a certain feature and don't know exact it what they'll do with it, maybe it is in but they want to keep it a surprise for later, and yes, there is the possibility that it's not in but they're not yet ready to reveal that for some reason, but only time can tell us which possibility it is.

As to whether werewolves are in, I don't know, I see no reason to assume they're not in or to assume they are. Until Bethesda is ready to answer the question, I can only say "maybe" about it.

Read the posts after that.

"I am quite positive werewolves are going to be in, but that's my opinion.", meaning I have a positive feeling they will be in, I do not assume they ARE in. It's merely a feeling.

Werewolves is actually a bad guess of being in, because nothing points towards it. While vampires, a lot points towards it. Some things are more plausible than others.

The Q&A isn't answering the most important questions on this forum, okay we realise that now. I am quite happy with it that way, I feel the same when they didn't answer the question on creatures being in or not. They shouldn't just answer every question, because it raises the probability that the release will be more dissapointing after each promise. If they say: "we can not say"; it does not mean that werewolves are not in.

It's all about marketing and strategy and all that kind of stuff. I am quite positive werewolves are going to be in, but that's my opinion.

Don't assume too much, it's bad for health. Just wait and see for yourself.

While I agree with the OP, I feel that a more respectful title is called for. It does nothing more than garner negativity from those who disagree, rather than inspire one to listen to a reasoned argument.

Other than the fact that the lore states very clearly that Lycanthropes are very common in Skyrim especially werebears and werewolves. I even think theres far more werewolves in skyrim than vampires.

And? Lore has nothing to do with it. Looking at past games, morrowind had werewolves as a DLC and oblivion didn't have them at all. While both of them had in vanilla game vampires. So which is more likely to be in? Vampires or werewolves?

Some of the people on the forum need to relax and (I agree) start using their heads. There is a big difference between discussing the game and whining about how they aren't including the "most important" features of previous games. I love discussing Skyrim, but all the whining and adolescent angst prevents me from visiting more often. Something many posters forget (or ignore) is that, when having a discussion of any kind, it is generally a good thing to be courteous and civilized. Reading the posts on this forum (and even in this thread) is a reminder that there is a general lack of class and character in the world. I agree with you, OP, that forum visitors should start using their heads (and manners) when posting. We could actually have some great discussions that way.
